About the adventure

North of the northernmost civilization sits Tokka, a tiny Goliath fishing village. Isolated from the rest of the world, Tokkans are wary of outsiders, familiar only with the wandering merchants who brave the ice to trade for furs and fish. These traders bring home stories of desolation, of bruting frost giants, and of an unforgiving wilderness full of lurking undead. Despite their dwindling numbers, generations of Tokkans have survived the tundra, making peace with the cruel gods who rule the wilderness. In a world where leaving home brings untold dangers, the bravest hunters must use not only their own survival skills, but hundreds of years of legends and story to navigate the treacherous landscape and the ancient grudge that lies beneath it.

About me

I'm Logan, I've been DMing for more than five years! At my peak I was running three sessions per week between two different groups. If you like a game with a strong narrative, character depth, player-driven conflict, and a strong sprinkling of wacky voices and hijinx, my table may be a good fit for you. I have experience with players of all ages (yes, even the ones who haven't touched dice since the eighties), and prioritize player fun and comfort over everything else. Though I have a preference for fifth edition, I have the resources for other editions on hand if given enough time to prepare.

Character creation

Creating your character

Please create a character at level 3 using point buy (27 pts). Classes outside of the standard 12 should be cleared with the DM, along with any unofficial or homebrew rules or races. All official races are welcome, although players who select Goliath will receive an additional feat. Rangers are encouraged for this campaign. Backstories are welcome, although note that backstores containing a short personal quest goal will take priority in implementation in the game. Example Quest Goals: -John's wife is missing, and his goal is to find her. -Tyra is a cleric, and her goal is to become the head of her order. -Robbie the thief's sister is deathly ill. Their goal is to find a cure for this illness by any means necessary. Context may be long, but keep goals simple. The DM will work with players to fit their goal into the setting and scope of the campaign.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

This game takes place over discord. Players will be given permission to join the video chat once a character sheet has been submitted to the "character sheets" chat. Character backstories will be given priority in the order they are submitted. Backstories submitted within 12 hours of the session may not be implemented into the game.

What Logan Lebold brings to the table

As a GM, it is my goal to support the players in telling their character's story. I put a lot of care and effort into finding a narrative for each and every player with interesting challenges and choices. I tend to include sparse and optional combat. Players who prefer mechanically strong characters and long, tactical combat may find themselves bored at my table.

Homebrew rules

After character creation, players will be expected to roll for lore (d20+int). The number of lore rolls is equal to the PC's intelligence modifier. Each lore roll provides the player with a factoid or rumor about the world around them that may influence how they engage with certain challenges. Additional house rules will be discussed prior to gameplay.
