About the adventure
THE CITY IS A LIE -- BUT IT'S YOUR LIE NOW Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors: a sprawling metropolis where nobles wear masks, gold changes hands in the shadows, and secrets hold more power than swords. What starts as a street-level treasure hunt—a race to find a hidden vault of stolen dragons (gold coins)—quickly spirals into a web of conspiracies, criminal empires, and arcane secrets that reach beyond the city and into the fabric of reality itself. This isn’t just Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. This is the Dragon Heist Reforged —a full-level 1–20 epic campaign that evolves as you do. Inspired by The Alexandrian Remix, DM Bob Yo has overhauled and expanded the adventure: you’ll navigate faction politics, investigate mysteries across planar nodes, and confront rising powers who seek to remake the city—and the world—in their image. Each tier of play brings new stakes: from daring rooftop chases and masked balls in Tier I, to interplanar espionage and world-shaping decisions by Tier IV. Expect layered intrigue, dynamic villain timelines, and meaningful choices. Your party might ally with Harpers, Lords, or even devils. You may unmask Lords of Waterdeep, overthrow a corrupt Masked Council, or ascend to myth. The tone is story-rich, character-driven, and cinematic—perfect for players who enjoy both roleplay and tactical challenge, with the freedom to shape their destiny. Whether you're new to D&D or a veteran of the Forgotten Realms, this game welcomes players who love mysteries, factions, secrets, ambition—and the thrill of rising from humble beginnings to legendary heights. Grab your gear, watch your back, and don’t trust anyone with your name. In Waterdeep, fortune favors the bold… until it buries them.
Meet the Game Master
About me
“May your journey be grand, your adventures vast, and your tales be told for ages to last!” - DM Bob Yo Hail and well met, brave adventurers. I’ve been telling stories and running games for more than four decades, leading adventurers through strange lands, dangerous battles, and memorable quests. I especially enjoy helping new players get comfortable with the game and making it easy to jump in. My table is built on inclusivity, respect, and collaboration. I want every player to feel welcome, heard, and able to contribute to the story. I try to bring together the best parts of old-school D&D with a modern, open table where creativity and camaraderie matter most. I’ve run games in living rooms, game stores, conventions, and plenty of places in between. No matter the setting, my goal is always the same: to create a fun, engaging experience and a story worth remembering.

Creating your character
Characters should be created ahead of time using the 2024 D&D rules. Legacy content is allowed, though if there is a 2024 version please use that. All official D&D publications from Wizards of the coast are permitted. I'll consider 3rd-party content on a case-by-case basis.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare you'll need to download and install Discord, the platform we use for video and voice. You will also need the FREE version of Fantasy Grounds from Steam or from the Fantasy Grounds website. My license covers my players, so you can use the Demo version through the entire campaign.
What DM Bob Yo brings to the table
I try to create an immersive experience with detailed and vibrant maps and NPC artwork via Fantasy Grounds. I use Syrinscape for mood music as well as various sound effects. I enjoy allowing players to interact with recurring NPCs, whether they be friend, foe, or other. I'm also a fan of running my games in a semi-sandbox style, which means that every campaign of even the same adventure is quite unique. Dragon Heist, in particular, is designed in a way that makes this possible, which is part of the reason I chose it to expand. I pride myself on detailed, tactically-challenging combats, and while I balance gameplay across the pillars, combat is where is shine.
