About the adventure

When gold was struck in the hills, Avery’s Bluff erupted from the earth like a fever dream—one moment a desolate stretch of dust, the next a roaring boomtown. But now, with the discovery of ghost rock, the place is drowning in greed, ambition… and something far more sinister. At first, no one paid much mind when a few silver trinkets went missing—a misplaced brooch here, a vanished pocket watch there. But as more and more treasures disappeared, whispers spread through the saloons and streets. Some blamed clever magpies with a taste for the shiny, while others swore a gang of nimble-fingered thieves was at work. Yet, the truth might be something far worse, lurking just beyond the flickering lantern light... I love telling a good story so I do mix some "rule of cool" in my games at times. I think strict rules shouldn't get in the way of a good time. We'll find a way to make it work as long as it doesn't break the game! Savage Worlds is a fantastic game that uses the entire set of polyhedral dice. We'll go through the rules when we start and I'm open to any questions!

About me

Hey everbody! My name is Ronnie and I've been a huge nerd all my life and I say that with absolute love for the word. I started playing D&D in high school, took a short hiatus then came back in to the world with a bang. I started GMing around ten years ago when I found that I (as well as others) weren't really welcome at the only table at our local game shop. So, I took it upon myself to ask if the shop owner wanted more GMs and she said yes! So...my journey started there and I have fallen completely in love with GMing. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, co-operative story telling, watching others discover their characters...there's nothing like it. So...what can you expect from me? I aim to provide a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone can play and have fun. I encourage role play and creativity. I'm also beginner friendly (I teach adults and kids alike how to play on Saturdays at my LGS). My games include D&D 5e, Castles & Crusades, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Deadlands, Kids on Bikes, Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Fallout, Walking Dead, Alien, Vaesen….pretty much anything!

Character creation

Creating your character

I have pre-generated characters for this game, but if you're familiar with character creation for this game, just let me know. I would like to go over any character that is brought in, though. The pre-gens are whole characters, but you're more than welcome to flavor them as you please! I'd like everyone to show up 30 minutes before so we can go over table rules and get to know each other a little.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Grab a good mic and a camera. Cameras are optional if you aren't comfortable. Physical dice are encouraged, but not to be abused! I'll send you a link to the pre-gens so you can choose what you think you'd like best.

What Ronnie brings to the table

I bring over all maps, some voices and a big imagination. We will meet on Discord and I will display maps and handouts on there. Combat will be helped along with the map. As I said before, I love a good story, so I do include the "rule of cool" some in my games. I like to add music to set the mood as well!
