About the adventure

A strange message beckons strangers to Striving, an expansive megaplex city on Aballon, the planet of Machines. There, you gather in a neon-lit cafe, surrounded by androids and robots, to meet an old friend. The bartender brings you refreshments—and a holographic recording from their mutual acquaintance. "Greetings, friends! If you’re watching this, it’s because I’ve experienced an unexpected shutdown—in organic terms, I’m dead." The discovery of their friend’s unexpected murder turns you once strangers into a crew of unlikely investigators. To find the killer, you’ll need to outrun murderous robots, outwit clever foes, and analyze perplexing clues—all while wondering if you’re hunting the murderer, or if the murderer is hunting you! The streets of Striving can be an unforgiving place, and you will need all their skills, resources—and no small amount of luck—to come out ahead, solve the murder, find the killer’s hideout, and bring them to justice!

About me

I suppose most of us here have always been drawn to tales of adventure and heroism... Maybe we would hang out with people who could make us smile with just a few words... I am sure you did to. So, now I hope that we can get together to tell many more great stories. As a kid I started with AD&D and now, 40ish years later someone finally tells me I could get more than just free pizza as a GM so... lets have some fun tonite! The spirit of those stories, is embodied in all of us and with the growth of Technology and many new great Campaigns, we can explore together so many wonderful worlds. Recently, I have spent most of my time in Golaria (Pathfinder) and the planets surrounding the Space Station Absalom (Starfinder). Now I hope we can spend some time to travel these worlds together.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a Discord Channel to discus player creation as players sign up. We will use all Common Options from all currently available books and if you wish to discuss Uncommon and Rare Options they will probably be approved

The current party

Note: The FULL SF2e Rules and Starbuilder 2e App should be available Mid August So I am hoping to start this a week or two after so people can run through the rules and make some character Choices.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will have blank sheets on Foundry ready to go. Reading the FREE CORE RULEBOOK should help a lot: https://downloads.paizo.com/PZO22000E.pdf

What GM The Gnome brings to the table

I have Foundry set up with all the maps and sheets and Dice. The Compendium will be open (so drag and drop will be available to make character creation and upkeep a breeze!)

Safety

How GM The Gnome creates a safe table

This Adventure is meant to be a sci-fi high adventure, full of danger and growth, not an analysis of, or mirror for real-world matters of social issues. Nonetheless, you and your friends might not enjoy the situations or conversations that arise as a result of your unusual roles in this campaign. Remember that a fun game involves enthusiastic consent from everyone at the table, especially when discussing or roleplaying themes that might closely resemble sensitive issues from the not-so-simple real world. What one person might consider an opportunity to discuss real-life ethical dilemmas might be an upsetting or traumatic situation for another. Feel free to voice your concerns as needed (and private avenues are available too). X-cards will be used in this Game as well as a discussion of Lines and Veils.
