About the adventure

A corpse in a hotel room. A friend, murdered. January 1925 – New York. Jackson Elias is dead. Butchered for what he knew. The trail of his killers points to something far larger than a single crime. You hold the broken pieces of his research. Fragments of notes, leads, and names scattered across the globe. Whatever Elias uncovered, he died for it. In smoky speakeasies and backroom offices people are, yet again, afraid of a cult. Long knives are drawn in the dark, killers hunt those who pry too deeply. The investigation deepens. It will not stop in New York. You will find yourself in immersive investigation, personal horror, and historical atmosphere. Unreliable reality: NPCs lie. Artifacts betray. You’ll never know who serves the Chaos. šŸ’€ A friend’s death is only the beginning. šŸŒ’ How far does this cult reach? 🧠 Secrets lie in wait for those brave—or foolish—enough to chase them. Embark on a sweeping, cinematic Call of Cthulhu campaign. You must unravel a chilling mystery where personal demons meld into cosmic horror. Your character’s deepest regrets and fears will be weaponized by the Crawling Chaos. This is not mere survival; it is a fight for your soul against a god who feeds on humanity's flaws. Beginner-friendly, but the Mythos pulls no punches. šŸŽ² Award-winning horror campaign, renowned as one of the best ever written šŸ” New player–focused, discover the mythos along with your character! šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ Inclusive, welcoming environment where everyone having fun is the focus The investigation begins. Pick up Elias’s trail. Uncover the truth. Stop the end of the world.

About me

My job as a web developer taught me technology should never get in the way, I am constantly improving my virtual tabletop. The same goes for rules. I'm obsessed with making sure you know enough rules and in-game-lore to feel informed and empowered. I was trained how to teach a game to new players, and ensure they're having fun the whole time, when starting a university board game club. It's hard for everyone to make time for games. I do my best to run a scheduled game 'no matter what.' You may be surprised at what I ā€œlet you get away withā€ – but that's the point of a roleplaying game! The whole reason I’m here is to allow you greater freedom than any computer or boardgame could ever allow. My role is to invent reactions and consequenses. I have diagnosed and medicated ADHD, one of the ways it can show up is a deep craving for emotional intensity. My toxic trait is seeking strong reactions. Years of unconscious practice mean I have developed a knack for pressing buttons, stirring up conflict, and chasing those moments that make people around me feel. That used to get me into trouble. But as a GM? It’s my greatest strength. I channel that energy into crafting unforgettable story beats and emotionally charged choices. When you disappoint a friendly ā€œNon-Player Characterā€, I’ll make it hurt. When a villain taunts you, you will burn to take them down. I use every narrative trick in the book to draw you deeper into your character’s journey, until you feel it in your gut. Join me in crafting adventures where your characters live, breathe, and grow! (possibly into horrible flesh monsters, to be determined)

Character creation

Creating your character

Once you join and contact me on Discord I'll arrange a voice call - usually 30 minutes before game time - and will help you build your character one-on-one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ensure your investigator is the type of person for whom international travel will not be too much of a challenge, the ability to travel to Peru and other locations is essential. ~~~~~~~~~~~Archetypes~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Knowledgeable types: Antique Dealer, Archaeologist, Author, Clergy, Doctor, Historian, Journalist, Linguist, Missionary, Museum Curator, Occultist, Scientist. Expedition guides and security: Big Game Hunter, Boxer/ Wrestler, Explorer, Mechanic, Military officer/Soldier, Sailor, Mountain Climber, Outdoorsman, Translator. Aids and assistants: Butler/Valet/Maid, Photographer, Researcher, Secretary, Student, Bodyguard. Those seeking an escape: Criminal, Gentleman/Lady. Those seeking inspiration: Actor, Artist, Musician, Missionary, Occultist, Dilettante. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If the investigators lack a certain essential skill, expertise can usually be found for a price, such as safecracking (Locksmith) or sailing (Pilot), as well as seeking out healing (First Aid, Medicine, and Psychoanalysis) from a local hospital, doctor, or wise person (if in more rural locales).

The current party

We're just wrapping up a... very unconventional resolution of the New York chapter. Will our investigators win their bids at the Carlyle auction ? Join us! We have a: - Powerful Psychic with a entanglements in the financial markets of New York. A drooping moustache covers many sins - Trained, Deadly professional bodyguard (...or are they just a killer?). Their skill overshadows any questions about their androgynous appearance Table notes: Veils will be drawn over any baby or birth related horror. Keeping scenes of physical intimacy rated PG-13 (cutting to black) R rated horror scenes though!

Pulp luck: each character has a pool of 'luck points' they can use to modify their rolls. I will add in other pulp rules as the campaign continues, to give a sense of progression and 'leveling up' When your character has a big developmental moment you will unlock your first Pulp talent. We will work on understanding when that is together.

Safety

How Isaac "Achoobert" creates a safe table

We are all adults here, I maintain an open door policy. If you have to step away for *any reason*, I'm not going to be annoyed or angry. I will find a way to progress the story, such as cutting away to other characters. I also provide all active players with an open *anonymous google form* because I want to make sure I can improve; and know some things can be difficult to say directly. Please use it! My goal is to get better! There are certain themes that are central to the text and cannot be avoided. Call of Cthulhu games generally play on themes of body horror and mental illness. Antagonist NPCs may also have unpleasant, political beliefs: these are almost always an obstacle to the player characters. Anyone wishing to discuss triggers may get with me anytime privately over Discord or SPG. For any situation you find too stressful, simply go AFK for as long as you require. My games are the equivalent of a PG-13 movie. I don't do explicit sexual content, but I may allude to it. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the troubles of our daily lives. Above-table prejudices, including racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia are NOT acceptable at my table and will lead to your immediate removal.
