Creating your character

For your campaign, all players will use a Word document to create and maintain their character sheet. This format is universally accessible, easy to edit, and ensures everyone can participate regardless of prior experience with digital tools. How the process works: Download the Template: After booking, you’ll receive a Word document template with all the essential sections for your D&D 5E character. Build Your Character: Use the template to record your character’s stats, background, equipment, spells, and any special features. You’re welcome to use any official sourcebooks or Adventurers League-legal options for your build. If you have questions or want advice on optimizing your character for the campaign’s story and challenges, CorporateDM is available for guidance. Submit Your Sheet: Once your character is ready, simply email the completed Word document to your host. Your DM will review the sheet for completeness, balance, and will reach out if any tweaks or clarifications are needed. Digital Integration: After approval, your character will be securely stored in SharePoint Online for easy access and version control. The DM will then convert your sheet into Fantasy Grounds format, ensuring a seamless experience at the virtual table. This process allows for smooth gameplay, quick reference, and the ability to track changes or level-ups as the campaign progresses. Optional Guided Session 0: For players who want extra support or a more interactive start, we offer a one-hour, voice and screen share “Session 0” at a one-time $20 upcharge. During this session, you’ll work directly with the DM to build your character, discuss backstory integration, clarify rules, and ask any questions about the Forgotten Realms setting or campaign expectations. This is ideal for newcomers, those seeking to optimize their build, or anyone wanting a personalized introduction to the story arc. What makes CorporateDM’s character creation process unique? Preparing for the session

Some storylines may involve mature themes, moral ambiguity, or difficult choices, just as you’d find in classic Forgotten Realms fiction. While we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive table, we also maintain a commitment to authenticity and canon lore-core elements of the setting (such as certain deities, monstrous cultures, or the presence of darker factions like the Cult of the Dragon or Drow society) will not be altered or omitted. If you are familiar with the Realms, you’ll find the tone and content consistent with the source material. If you are new, please know that while we aim to avoid gratuitous or graphic content, we cannot predict every possible scenario or theme that may arise.
