About the adventure
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... It is a time of anarchy and uncertainty in the galaxy. The terror of the First Order is over, defeated by the "Citizen's Fleet." But a new form of government has yet to be established and the galaxy has no centralized rulership. Thousands of worlds now struggle for order and a new era of opportunity and danger takes shape. Scoundrels and smugglers, explorers and expatriates, fringers and mercenaries, all scramble for a living in this lawless time. Explore the lives and adventures of the outlaws who live in these uncertain times. You'll run into characters, both light and dark, who share dangerous secrets, owe large debts, and have reason to run from powerful enemies. Some of them may become your friends and allies, others may become your bitter enemies. You must rely on your innate abilities, trained skills, and special talents to survive. Our campaign takes place after Episode IX, The Rise of Skywalker. This part of the history of the canonical Star Wars universe is unwritten. The stories and adventures of those living in this era are completely unfettered by anything that has come before. You choose your own destiny, and the outcomes of your decisions may shape the very structure of the galaxy, or at least an important portion of it. Where will YOUR story take us?

About me
Hello! I have been immersed in the joy of stories and RPGs for over 30 years now. I've played and run in many systems including D&D, Amazing Tales, Fate, Rifts, World of Darkness, Star Wars, Savage Worlds, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Numinera, Cypher System, and many others. I've used online VTTs extensively for over 10 years. I have been blessed to share amazing experiences with people from all walks of life and styles of play. I make sure that our game is inclusive and fun! As an educator working with middle and high school students I have worked with dozens of new players of every age from 5 to 65 and have had the honor of running for many long-time players as well. Let's see where our journey takes us next!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during your individualized Session 0, and will follow the standard rules for Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, or Force and Destiny. You are encouraged to use Obligation and Morality regardless of which book is used.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will not need to know any of the rules to begin, you'll learn the rules as you play. We will use Discord for video & audio communication. Video is advisable, but optional. The virtual tabletop we'll use for our adventures is the Foundry VTT on the Forge website. Foundry facilitates the absolute best experience for any Star Wars Fantasy Flight Games adventure. I will share an easy tutorial for Foundry. You can create a free account at forge-vtt.com Players will also need to have a stable internet connection, microphone/speakers or headset, and limited outside distractions. A video camera is advisable, but optional.
What Paul brings to the table
Beautiful scenes, maps, & tokens on the Foundry VTT, a curated playlist of ambient music from the films, 30+ years of GMing experience, and an intense story, your character's story, set in the Star Wars universe! As a professional GM my main focus is creating a quality experience at the table for my clients. I'm committed to doing my utmost to ensure everyone at our session is truly enjoying their time. For Star Wars FFG sessions I seek a good balance between roleplaying, combat, exploration, and character development. It is important to tell a compelling story, not just blast some heads for combat's sake. Combat is intense and meaningful. Players in these sessions can expect lots of character interaction and meaningful storylines. If you're just interested in min-maxing your character and shooting everything you see this is not the game for you. (Jedi mind trick hand motion.) In helping to tell wonderful, epic stories the "Rule of Cool" is a great asset and I use it often.

Safety
How Paul creates a safe table
The backstory and goals of your character will drive the narrative of our story, and our adventures will feature situations commonly found in Star Wars stories. Blaster battles, negotiations, chases, and starship battles to name but a few. Your individual Session 0 will include creating a unique character with their own drives, goals, fears, connections, and background. I'll also provide an easy tutorial on navigating and using Discord as well as our virtual tabletop, Foundry. Safety and inclusion for all players is of the utmost importance. Our safety tools include the Lines & Veils, "X" card, Open Door, & Breaks. These tools will be discussed at the beginning of Session 0. If there are additional safety tools you'd like to incorporate let me know, I'm happy to accommodate.
