About the adventure

This is Eldritch horror adventure, loosely based off the HP Lovecraft book, Shadow over Innsmouth. There will be intentional probing of your characters darkest secrets and other horror tropes. Your job is to investigate a town best left forgotten. A man named Tom has gone missing while visiting the Lost Shore to do some trading on the Marrigold Coaster's behalf. His mother Mrs. Lamere who runs the Marrigold has sent you all letters requesting you meet her at the Coaster to speak about possibly taking the job. Within the letter she address you by your full legal name, and even alludes to some of your past dealings that you thought was more buttoned up than it apparently was.

About me

Hello, my name is Andrew. I am the DM and showrunner for The Dunderheads over on twitch and youtube. I have been DMing since 2016 and honestly can't get enough of it. I can do anything from a long form campaign with heavy story beats to oneshots where we all play little critters just trying to steal scraps from the dumpster out side of the local tavern.

Had a great time playing with Andrew! He was very patient and helpful as I've only played a couple times. Does a great job of setting the environment. Really fun story and characters. Would enjoy being a player at his table again. #InClydeWeTrust

Had a fantastic time in this dungeon crawl one-shot! The DM created an engaging adventure that kept our group of four adventurers on our toes from start to finish. Andrew has a talent for voice acting - he brought monster's to life with distinct voices that really enhanced the immersion. It made encounters so much more memorable and entertaining. The puzzles were cleverly designed and struck the perfect balance between challenging and solvable. They required actual teamwork and creative thinking, which made solving them feel genuinely rewarding. What really stood out was how accommodating Andrew was with requests outside of the game. They were professional and helpful with any questions or needs we had, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The dungeon itself was well-crafted with good pacing between exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. Everyone in our group stayed engaged throughout the entire session. Andrew clearly puts effort into their craft and it shows. Would absolutely recommend them to other players looking for a quality gaming experience.

I've played with Andrew for several years now, and he always cares about your character, prepares for sessions more than any other DM I have played with and makes sure everyone at the table is having a good time

Best DM ever, Fun with the voices, Allows funny jokes and actions, and gives us all the freedom of creativity a lot of people look for in a DM! I’ve never had better.

Andrew is the best GM that I’ve had the pleasure of playing with. It is not even a competition and he yet would be the humble person to say that GMing is not supposed to be competitive. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of DnD rules but doesn’t let it bog down his games. If I could be in a campaign of his forever I would do so in a heartbeat. I’ve since moved timezones and I’ve debated waking up at 3 am just to play in his games. He is actually that great. If something so important to you in the story he will hear your feedback and work with you to create an amazing experience. He is endlessly creative with his homebrew world he makes. I’m convinced he spends his days thinking and dreaming in DnD and practicing funny voices. He has access to wonderfully colorful maps and soundscapes and supports other creators in the space. He is the most consistent person I know of and you do not need to worry about cancellations. You can trust that he will create an inclusive environment possible like he did for me as a gender-queer person.

Character creation
Creating your character

Once I have enough players for the adventure, I will open a channel in my Discord specifically for this session. In there will be a guide on how to make characters along side a custom campaign frame I have written and play tested. Please make sure that you are not doubling up on classes as we go through.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

You will need to join The Dunderhead's Discord: https://discord.gg/fxUY5jqZD2 This is a public server we use for games and more. Make a Foundry VTT account: https://foundryvtt.com/ This is for the Virtual Table top we will play on Make a forge hosting account: https://forge-vtt.com/ This the server that the VTT is hosted on All of these are free, and easy to sign up with.

What Andrew Johnson brings to the table

Im here to provide a creepy atmosphere, in a fun way. From ambient sounds around Lost Shore to an intriguing mystery my goal is for you to feel the dew on your hands and the breath down your neck. I bring a dedicated discord, Foundry VTT with modules to help track fear and hope, dscryb's host of ambient sounds and music, Cze Peku's hand drawn maps and tokens. I'm sure to find what you need. Daggerheart is still new, so dont worry about not knowing the rules we'll tackle that together. I'm here to help AND crush.

Homebrew rules

I made a custom campaign setting called the Old One's Calling. It has a bunch of horror elements not seen in the base game. It will be linked in the discord. It's frankly too much to add here. In a good way I promise.

Safety
How Andrew Johnson creates a safe table

I will add a Lines and Veils document on the discord, but understand that some fears I may not be able to accommodate for this adventure. Fear of deep ocean. Fear of memory loss. Fear of sea creatures I.E. Squid. Fear of the dark and more. I will have these outlined in the Lines and Veils doc, but will do my best to accommodate other phobias.
