About the adventure

Seems like a long time ago, the first adventure that almost turns to tragedy, if not for the blessings of your current patron, Fate. After years of adventuring, your party has found a family in each other, prevailed through hardships, fought against great evil and lived to tell your tales as heroes of the realm. Now, Fate Herself is knocking at your door, with a warning, "Your boons, are mine to take, and thy debt is due". One final adventure will bring you to the realm of your patron... Will you battle your fears? Can you find your way to Fate? Do you dare stand against Her? Ready to experience a world ending threat against your high level characters? If that sounds like you, come join me in this epic end for a seasoned party! Full guided process to make high level characters, Min-maxing allowed. This is an experiment, a fun way to work with the mechanics of the game and a first glance at what Daggerheart has to offer at higher levels. This is why this is a free One-shot, which is technically a Two-shot because of the very important Session 0 where we will make your epic seasoned adventuring party. As with all other free campaigns and One-shots, feel free to add any payment as you see fit, no strings attached, only if you feel like it at the end. This of course goes fully into making better campaigns with VTTs, Music and more!

About me

For me TTRPGs are a path towards the creation of characters and worlds that we can immerse ourselves in, learn new ways to interact and have fun and with each other! I am a seasoned TTRPG player for 8+ years, only reason I never GMed was because of a single reason "Rules as Written". I was told this idea that the DM should always have the world all on their own and use the book as a fixed guide for encounters and roleplay. Now that I know "Rule of Cool" exists, my approach to TTRPGs has completely changed and I can now enjoy all the years of learning the games and the new systems that allow more freedom and roleplay. As a Pychologist I believe in creating safe spaces for people at the table at all times, no matter the theme or stakes of a game. As a teacher it is my duty to continue learning and teaching whenever I can, so I love the approach to new game systems and "Learn and Play" templates When it comes to safety expect special attention to "Session 0" and a homebrew addition called "Continuos boundaries at the table".

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a Session 0 which is paramount to the One-shot, you can bring an idea of the character you want to make, and even have a level 1 character pre-made. Then, we will use all your characters to create a party that not only knows each other, but has grudges, relationships and emotions from a long time being together! Characters begin and end this campaign at level 9

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Get your Discord account and Demiplane ready to make the characters and run this game. Prepare yourself to possibly lose this character, utilize all three of the Daggerheart options known as Death Moves: - Lying unconscious when the stakes are not as high - Rolling the dice when your team needs you the most - Go out in a blaze of glory to possibly deal the final blow And be ready to say goodbye to this character. But fight your hardest not to lose them.

What Profesor Haltr brings to the table

Mostly Rule as Written combat to find exactly what kind of challenge your character can expect. However we can tweak and work with the challenge that a Tier 4 enemy brings I use voices, I prefer to have my camera on so I can further show the details of the world through body language. (Camera is not required, but it is preferred) Combat will require your involvement, not through puzzles but through character ideals, flaws and decisions.

Homebrew rules

No homebrew unless specified in the session itself.

Safety

How Profesor Haltr creates a safe table

As with all my other templates. Session 0 will be paramount for the type of story we want to tell. Lines and Veils is a must, the CATS system although guided (since this is a session to try these mechanics to the fullest) is very important to my style of GMing. Although there will be Cosmic horror and I will surely inflict damage to your characters, (both mental and physical) you as the player should always feel safe and part of the fun.
