About the adventure
The land is broken. Crooked roads wind through ash-choked forests and fallow fields, past burned halls and butchered villages. War between petty kings leaves no man safe, and the new stone churches rise where once stood sacred groves. In the hills, the old folk still leave offerings at the standing stones. In the woods, children go missing. And in the hollows and barrows, something stirs...horned, hungry, and fecund. Satyrs dance in the moonlight and celebrate their bloody feasts, faeries try to trick the unwary into their schemes and tricks, and beasts of the land have begun to twist into forms unrecognizable. The countryside is rotting from the root, and the earth itself seems ready to give birth to something ancient and evil... You will delve into ancient ruins for lost secrets, investigate great mysteries, and fight tooth and nail against the forces that seek to end humanity in a desperate struggle to survive, or save that which is sacred to you should that prove to be impossible.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Born at a very young age, I was marked from my youth, cursed to be sired by a "Role-player". My destiny was sealed that fateful day. For years, this passion lay dormant, until my foolish brother, having unearthed the tomes hidden in our home, began... to play. He hosted a game on my birthday, allowing me to invite a friend to play the legendary "Sunless Citadel". The day I met Meepo the Kobold, I knew this was my calling. For over 20 years now, I have honed my body and mind to perfect the art of TTRPG. While others studied the blade, I read the monster manual. While some played sports, I learned the the formulas necessary to calculate ability scores and spell slots. If you need a guide to the other side of that magical door that is immersive roleplaying, I hope to assist in this, the most honorable of goals. To me, TTRPGs have always represented a unique opportunity to explore powerful situations and emotions that our lives might not otherwise present the opportunity to explore. It can be a powerful emotional tool in difficult times in life, and it can be a great way to just hang out with some buds and have low-stakes, goofy fun. Both are good, and both are valid. I strive to create a fun and inclusive space for anybody interested in the hobby, regardless of background or skill level. Roleplaying means a lot of different things to different people, but diversity is what makes it fun!

Preparing for the session
Players will need a computer with an internet connection, and a microphone/headset. A chrome based browser is needed to use foundry (google chrome is best)
What Killian brings to the table
I bring a very open style as a game master, encouraging creative solutions to problems, while allowing the rules to still serve as a framework for our game. I have a ton of experience as a TTRPG player, as well as experience as an improviser, so I am not afraid to go a little off the rails, or to explore aspects of the game that might draw a player's interest. I encourage players to also take narrative control to help guide the story: establishing consequences before a roll, adding flourish to important successes, etc.
Homebrew rules
We play with the optional luck spending rule.

Safety
How Killian creates a safe table
I have an open door policy, meaning players can talk to me at any time about any issue that might pop up during the game. I maintain narrative curtain on any romance/ sexual content in my games, meaning it can be implied "Off-camera" but not covered in game detail. Each table is different, but levels of comfortability are maintained in each game I run. Lines and veils are established during Session 0, but can be altered as the game continues, or new players arrive. There is zero space for any real-world cruelty in any of my games, and no tolerance for Racism, Sexism, or bigotry fo any form. Players who break this rule are removed immediately from the session. Finally, even after playing with some players for years, I still ask people to maintain a level of internet privacy, we are all strangers and personal information need not be shared to have a good time. Stay safe.
