About the adventure
You remember the 1980s … but not like this. The suburbs are dim around the edges, and some places are darker after dusk than they should be. Arcades hum with static. Dreams glitch into reality. And something inside your favorite game is just longing to escape. In Thirteen After Midnight, you’ll play a group of teens navigating schoolyard drama, broken families, and creeping dread in a fictional 1980s town of our own creation. Inspired by Stranger Things, The Goonies, and Nightmare on Elm Street, this is a coming-of-age mystery where the monsters wear pixelated faces ... or maybe the faces of those you trust most. We’ll be using the Year Zero Engine and character creation from Tales From The Loop, but this is a Loop-free setting. No robots. No particle accelerators. Just small-town horror, VHS weirdness, and the kind of fear that sneaks in after midnight. Here, the line between reality and imagination is blurred. This is a play-by-post game with a weekly rate of $15. I’ll respond daily whenever posts are available, or match your pace if you prefer a slower rhythm. Beginners are most welcome. Year Zero is rules-light and easy to learn, and pbp gaming is low-pressure and highly flexible ... a perfect way to explore roleplaying at your own pace.

About me
I've been playing TTRPGs since the early 1980s and I'm loving the resurgence in popularity of tabletop gaming. I run a range of games aimed at introducing players to awesome systems they may not realize exist. I like to keep things simple using physical dice and theater of the mind on Discord. These days most of my games are play-by-post but I do host the occasional one-shot over voice channel. All of my games are LQBTQIA+, BIPOC and neurodivergent friendly. Gaming newbies will be offered all the support they need to find a fun and safe gaming environment.
