About the adventure

Welcome to the war-torn lands of Cathay. Once ruled by a single Dragon Emperor, Cathay has known three centuries of bloodshed since their death. The Dragon Lords—ancient, serpentine tyrants—now wage endless war, each seeking to crown themselves the next eternal sovereign. Their ceaseless battles have poisoned the land, and with every life sacrificed to ambition, the spiritual fabric of the world frays further. And now, something darker stirs. Whispers tell of monstrous demons—twisted things that scream in the night and prey upon villages left unprotected. The Dragon Lords, blinded by pride and power, dismiss these rumors as distractions from their wars. As Cathay teeters on the brink, someone must take up the mantle to confront what they will not.

About me

Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with my own imagination and the imagination of others. Imagination is a place where you can take a break from everything for a bit and pretend to be somewhere, someone, something else. I was always creating new worlds or expanding ones I had already created in my head. Soon the closet was stockpiled with cheap note book paper adorned with my doodles, drawings, maps and ideas. Now as an adult, I continue that trend.. just a bit less messy. About three years ago I finally gave DnD a try and immediately started DM, building a new and expansive homebrew world with my players as we all learned along the way. Now that world is a 500+ page PDF with still more to go. My obsession with world building clearly knows no bounds and I would love to share either my world or a world created by another (As I said, I also love to explore the imaginations of other people!) with a as many people as I can. <3

Love playing with this DM. This is my second campaign with her and love her style. She is great about being by the book but also allowing her players to do the classic D&D shenanigans.

Lots of fun! well rounded story telling and knows when to let players take the reigns, just the right amount of rule of cool and firm rules.

Jjostar is a great DM, This is my second campaign that I've run with her as my DM. She's always very communicative and is very fun to play under. She's got a great understanding of the rules and knows when to allow for the "rule of cool" if you want to be a little creative.

A great and welcoming Dm. I was a new player and she helped me create a well built character. Good at storytelling and improvisation.

Played in one of her Evil campaigns. Was tons of fun and I enjoyed myself a good bit.

In my opinion this is the best DM you could have, she is fair and keeps the balance of combat to RP just right, I've never had a boring session with her as my DM.

Character creation
Creating your character

-Start level 3 -You get any item given by your class, race, background, etc and in addition one uncommon item. The uncommon item of choice needs to be approved by the DM. -You can either roll for hit points or take the average -You can use either point buy, standard array, or roll for ability scores. Rolling for ability scores needs to be done with the DM to witness. -I will approve most races/classes/subclasses but please run any choice you pick by the DM first if it's not in the PHB. -Have your character fit the theme of the campaign. -Have character art ready by the time for session 1.

What to expect

What Erin brings to the table

DM Style: My approach is player-focused, striking a careful balance between adherence to rules and the spirit of the Rule of Cool. I build immersive worlds and intricate stories for players to shape with their choices. Agency is central—players drive the narrative, and everyone will have their moment to shine. I believe in collaborative storytelling where player creativity is not just welcomed, but essential. Combat Style: Challenging, dynamic, and engaging. Combat is more than a numbers game; it requires tactical thinking, smart resource management, and adaptability. I tailor encounters to reflect the party’s strengths and weaknesses—combat evolves alongside you. I won’t pull punches, but I’m not out to kill you arbitrarily either; you will earn your victories. Descriptions of battle are visceral and grounded—striking with a sword or unleashing a fireball will have brutal, vivid consequences. Rewards often come in the form of magical items, potions, gold, and rare treasures—ways to grow in power without constant leveling. Game Style: The campaign will feature overarching storylines intertwined with side quests, dungeon delving, puzzles, and meaningful consequences for player actions. Roleplay will be deeply integrated, with rich opportunities for character development and interaction. Outside of combat or structured exploration, gameplay will rely on Theatre of the Mind to keep the pace fluid and immersive. Other Things I provide -> Scenery and Ambience -> Character Voices -> Stern rules with a splash of rule of cool when it makes sense for the narrative -> Playable Battlemaps within a VTT that lets you explore dungeons and control your character during combat

How Erin creates a safe table

We will discuss any hard lines people will want drawn but in general the game will be dark and gritty. It's inspired by real world history and 90s dark fantasy so expect realistic themes.
