Report Adventure

About the adventure

The frontier is burning. Drow raids strike without warning. Villagers are missing, a sacred ritual is unraveling, and the darkness below is waking. You’re not just looking for another D&D campaign — you’re searching for something unforgettable. You want a game where your choices matter, where your character can rise from a frostbitten outpost to shape the fate of entire realms. But most games don’t offer that. They rush the story, ignore your backstory, or dissolve into chaos after a few sessions. Worst of all, they never give you the chance to truly become the hero you imagined. In Rise of the Drow, that changes. This is a high-stakes, level 2–20 campaign where you begin in Rybalka — a snow-covered frontier teetering on the edge of darkness. Something stirs beneath the earth, and the Drow are rising. You and your fellow adventurers are all that stands between the surface world and eternal night. From these icy wilds to the labyrinthine tunnels of the Underdark, your story will unfold across a world in turmoil — one that responds to your choices, your strategies, and your alliances. By the time your journey reaches its climax, you won’t just be a character on a sheet — you’ll be a legend whispered across the Underdark and etched into the surface world’s history. You’ll command armies you built from the ground up, wield artifacts you personally crafted from the bones of your fallen enemies, and walk halls of power where ancient forces rule. Your choices will have reshaped entire factions. Former rivals may now fight at your side—or lie buried in your wake. You'll have earned the loyalty of NPCs whose lives you changed, made sacrifices that still echo across the realm, and watched your humble beginnings in Rybalka bloom into an empire of your own making. The world will remember your name, because you didn’t just play through a campaign—you carved your story into its heart. Session 0 is free — and your legend starts the moment you join. You rise from a frostbitten survivor to a living legend, your name known across the realms above and below. You forge powerful alliances, command your own stronghold, and lead armies against a growing darkness. The magical items you craft become the envy of archmages; the decisions you make reshape the fate of nations. Whether through diplomacy, war, or cunning, you carve your own path—and the world bends around it. By the end of this journey, your character isn’t just a hero. They are a myth, a force of change whose legacy will be remembered long after the final die is cast.

About me

I've been a Game Master for nearly 25 years, guiding countless adventuring parties through worlds full of danger, wonder, and possibility. While I may look like I just hit level 3 (I’ll take the compliment!), I bring decades of experience and passion to every session I run. "But yeah, all DMs have experience—what’s so special about you?" First of all, great question! I do my absolute best to bring every part of my game to life. Through voices, decisions, and action, every creature and NPC feels alive. I run combat to be as smooth as possible. Automation keeps things moving quickly—I spend hours programming each ability to ensure it triggers and resolves correctly within moments, so your turn comes back to you faster. I know my worlds like the back of my hand. I’ve custom-built them, and every location has a story to explore and interact with to your heart’s content. If you’ve ever wanted a video game where you have infinite choices, I believe my tabletop is the place for you. "WAIT! A video game?!?! But this is D&D!!!" True—but haven’t we all wanted to see what our fireball looks like when it explodes, or imagine our sword swing as it cuts through the air? Don’t you want to hear the "whoosh" of a blade, or the "thunk" of an arrow string snapping? At my table, you get all of that—animations bring every spell, attack, feature, and ability to life. I hope that helps you make your decision. So please—grab your sword and strap on your shield. Bring every potion and scroll. Grip that claymore, twirl your wand, and raise your staff. Come kill some damn drow before they take any more slaves!!!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters should be created with the point buy system starting at level 2. Your backstory should level you up from 1 to 2. Extra kudos for tying your story to the Underdark (called the Underworld in Aventyr), and Drow or Driders. Don't worry if you have never played before, I will assist you so you can create the character you want! For character creation and gameplay we will use the following rules: Players Handbook 2014 (Limited race choice due to setting, but enough to cover all the bases!) Xanathar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Generic Backgrounds: 2 skills, 2 languages or tools, and 1 origin feat. Be anyone you want!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you will need is a Discord account and a character idea! My server is private and will launch approximately 1 hour before game time for players to adjust sheets, and research journal entries. A link to the server will be provided! The game will run in your internet browser. FoundryVTT is free for users, no downloads required!

What DM Bryant brings to the table

I am a DM that has played with players both old and new. I will allow mistakes as you learn, and try to help you learn how character classes work, where to place those stat points, and how the different skills are used in game. I will assist you in creating your character to match the vision you have, and guide you through the decision making process seamlessly. This is a welcoming, inclusive table. Every player no matter their background deserves respect and a voice, and I promise to uphold that value. Leave the real world behind for a few hours, and enjoy the thrill of taking down power-hungry drow—or dying trying. At my table, your enemies won’t just sit and wait for you to kill them—they think, plan, and execute. Whether it’s the glistening mandibles of a phase spider, the maniacal laughter of a drider, or the cold, calculated cunning of a rogue, I bring every monster and NPC to life through distinct voices, mannerisms, and action. I run combat so it never drags. Automation keeps turns moving fast, and animations make every spell and strike cinematic. You’ll see the swing of your sword, the splash of acid, and the explosion of your fireball—resolving in seconds, not minutes. I know my worlds inside and out, from the gods to the monsters to every NPC. Your roleplay will never be put on hold while I "look something up"—the world will feel alive and ready to react to you at every turn. So bring your swords. Bring your wands. Let your imagination run wild in the world I’ve built. Blast spiders into oblivion, forge legendary weapons, recruit strange allies, and maybe—just maybe—save the world from the drow.

Safety

How DM Bryant creates a safe table

Lines and Veils: Hard lines will be discussed and recorded in a journal entry available to all players during Session 0. Perspective: We will discuss the context of some content warnings for understanding and clarity. Why does X happen? Is it a topic for fun, or does it add to the story? Breaks: I try to take a 10 minute break every 2 hours. If we need more or less, that would be on a day by day basis. Luxton: In the case some event is truly triggering someones past, they have the right to separate themselves from the event without explanation. Sometimes things get too deep for us as individuals. We can discuss how to progress in the most accepting matter for everyone involved after tensions have settled.
