About the adventure

Welcome to the crew. You’ve been tapped by the mysterious Golden Vault to pull off the kind of jobs most people wouldn’t dare whisper about—stealing magical artifacts, infiltrating high-security fortresses, and escaping with your life (and the loot). Whether you’re a smooth-talking rogue or a fireball-happy barbarian, there’s a place for you on the team. This campaign is new player friendly, with a solid mix of roleplay, problem-solving, and thrilling combat, all wrapped in stylish, high-stakes heists. Just bring your dice, your wits, and maybe a getaway plan.

About me

Hi there, my name is Kit. I am a young adult with an extreme passion and love for DnD. I am also an artist and Baulders Gate 3 fanatic. I've been running Dungeons & Dragons games for over six years, and in that time, I've learned one core truth: the best stories are the ones built with your players, not just for them. As a Dungeon Master, my focus is on creating fun, immersive games that draw players into the narrative on a personal level. Whether it's a quiet character moment or a world-shaking battle, I love helping players feel like their choices truly matter. I specialize in crafting dynamic, challenging combats that push the party to think creatively and work as a team—while still giving each character moments to shine. I blend crunchy mechanics with cinematic flair, often leaning into the "rule of cool" when it enhances the fun and story. While I respect the rules, I believe they should serve the players—not the other way around. At the heart of it, I just love this game. I love the laughter, the surprises, the heartbreak, and the triumphs that come from a well-played session. My goal is always the same: to create a table where players feel seen, excited, and eager for the next adventure.

Character creation

Creating your character

We’ll be doing collaborative character creation as a group, so don’t stress if you’re new or unsure about your build—we’ll walk through everything together, including backstories and how your character fits into the crew. Starting Level: 5 New players: Come with ideas, not pressure—I’ll guide you through it! Experienced players: You're welcome to create your character in advance if you’d like, but it’s not required. Preferred Ruleset: I encourage using the 2014 Player’s Handbook over the 2024 revision for consistency and flexibility. Homebrew & UA: Ask first, but I'm open to cool ideas that fit the tone. Bring your creativity, a willingness to collaborate, and maybe a few secrets your character’s not ready to share just yet.

The current party

🎭 Welcome, Operatives… 🎭 You’ve been chosen—not by chance, but by design. The Golden Vault has seen your skills, your potential, and your past… and still made the call. Consider this your formal induction. Before you is a series of high-stakes missions, each more daring than the last. Expect intricate heists, hidden motives, ancient secrets, and choices that echo far beyond gold and glory. Success may mean fame, riches, and a name etched into legend. Failure? Well… let’s just not. Keep your blades sharp, your minds sharper, and remember: you’re not alone. This is a team job. Trust each other—at least until the loot is in hand. Your first mission awaits. The Vault is open.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We’ll be using Roll20 to help keep things organized—it’s simple, streamlined, and great for maps, tokens, and keeping track of combat. That said, if you prefer using paper character sheets or physical dice, we can absolutely talk about how to make that work. If you have strong objections to using Roll20, I’m open to other platforms and happy to find a solution that works for everyone. The goal is smooth gameplay, not tech headaches. Just come prepared with a sense of your character, a willingness to collaborate, and the tools you’re most comfortable with—we’ll figure the rest out together.

What Kit brings to the table

I’m here to make the game fun, immersive, and collaborative—for new adventurers and seasoned dice-goblins alike. Here’s what I’ll be bringing to the table: 🎭 Interactive, Roleplay-Driven NPCs – Expect colorful characters with unique voices, personalities, and motivations. Some you’ll love, some you’ll hate, and some you’ll probably try to rob. 🧩 Integrated Backstories – Your character’s story matters. I’ll weave your backstories into the plot to give your choices weight and make sure your personal arcs shine. 🎲 A Balanced DM Style – I like to follow the official rules where it makes sense—but I’m also a big fan of the Rule of Cool. If something sounds epic and fits the moment, I’ll find a way to make it happen. 🌈 A Chill, Supportive Atmosphere – Whether you’re a roleplay pro or just finding your voice, this is a space to have fun, experiment, and grow your character. I’m easygoing, flexible, and here to help make the game awesome for everyone. I’ll handle all the heavy lifting behind the scenes—from setting up Roll20 to tracking monsters—so you can focus on making bold moves, cool moments, and terrible life choices in-character.

Homebrew rules

To keep things exciting, cinematic, and character-driven, here are some house rules we’ll be using: 🍷 Potion Drinking: Drinking a potion is a free item interaction—as long as it’s easily accessible (no digging through a bag mid-combat). 🔥 Action + Bonus Action Spells: You can cast both an action and bonus action spells in the same turn, regardless of spell level. 🎲 Nat 1s and Nat 20s Matter: Natural 20s and 1s don’t just mean success or failure—they come with added consequences, surprises, or cinematic effects (good or bad!). ❤️ Hit Points on Character Creation: When rolling for HP at character creation, you may re-roll any result of 3 or lower to avoid sad squishy starts. 📊 Ability Score Rolls: We’re using the classic 4d6, drop the lowest method for stat generation. ⭐ Starting Feat: Every character begins with one feat at level 1, no exceptions. Choose something fun! 🧠 Training System: Characters can train during downtime to gain additional feats, proficiencies, or special abilities over time—with roleplay and effort. ✨ More May Come: I may add or tweak rules during character creation or in-game if it serves the fun, balance, or story. These rules are here to support a fast-paced, collaborative, and exciting game experience. If you ever have questions, just ask—I'm always happy to clarify or work things out together.

Safety

How Kit creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are a top priority in my games. During character creation and our session zero, we'll openly discuss content boundaries, player preferences, and any themes you'd like to avoid. I use clear safety tools—including verbal safe words, private messaging options, and anonymous feedback channels—so everyone has a way to express discomfort at any time. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, heard, and free to enjoy the game without stress. Whether you're new to TTRPGs or a veteran, your voice matters, and I’m here to help make sure your experience is fun, inclusive, and comfortable.
