Learn to Play Daggerheart: A Weekly Campaign
Enter the mysterious world of Daggerheart in this beginner-friendly campaign where your ideals shape fate and every choice changes the story.
About the adventure
Welcome to Daggerheart — a world of heroic fantasy, heartfelt choices, and stories forged at the table. Whether you’re brand new to the game or returning after a one-shot or Quickstart session, this campaign is a chance to dive deeper into the richly emotional and collaborative storytelling that defines Daggerheart. Together, we’ll begin with a Session Zero to build our world, characters, and core themes—will we journey through cursed forests, embattled kingdoms, or something stranger still? That’s up to us. In Daggerheart, your ideals matter as much as your sword arm, and failure can lead to moments of unexpected beauty. You’ll create a character who is brave, flawed, and driven—ready to face moral questions, forge deep bonds, and leave a mark on a world that responds to your choices. I run games with a balance of drama and levity, built on trust and player input, where the dice help shape the story rather than define it. If you’re looking for a campaign full of discovery, connection, and bold fantasy adventure, your heart has found the right place.

About me
Back in the day, I played AD&D every Sunday at noon. The DMs were two brothers who took turns. I had never really been friends with them before that. We played until dinner. We were into it. I played Felris Quickfingers, Svirfneblin Jester. I could never figure out how anyone DMed the game and I never cared to learn. The same could be said for working in a middle school, which I had also sworn off ever doing, but found myself doing one day. I started social groups using DnD and Pathfinder. It was awesome teaching kids DnD and building relationships that way. Eventually, I switched to playing with friends and family during the pandemic. Now, I DM almost exclusively. I foolishly thought I would DM to inspire my players to also become DMs. In the meantime, I discovered I love the range of creativity this hobby brings out in us all, and all the ways it brings people together.

Creating your character
I have many pre-made characters we can use on our virtual tabletop (VTT), but if you own the Daggerheart compendium in Demiplane, you may make one there. We will start at level 1 and go over the character sheet first. Our first Session will be what is known as a Session Zero, where we will meet each other, discuss the setting, and create characters together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will use Discord, Demiplane, and Roll 20. Feel free to sign up for either one ahead of time, but I will send links that act as invites and sign-ups simultaneously.
What Jake Ware brings to the table
I love to try to do voices, and I tend to avoid using music. I do my best to follow the rules, but seeing as this is a fairly new game, and a collaborative, I will do the best to ensure everyone is having a fun time.

How Jake Ware creates a safe table
I always ask for players to let me know about what makes them uncomfortable, even if it's as it comes up, in case you forget. I work with kids and generally don't get too violent with my descriptions.
