Marlowe Fairwind, the right-hand sorcerer of King Emeris, has gathered her most trusted allies to carry an important package to Hush, a small village within the ancient forest of Sablewood. The crate is large, heavy and sealed with magic, addressed to the Whitefire Arcanist. You’ve been given a map and a carriage, and the promise of reward upon your arrival. In this roleplay encouraged game system, you'll be be guided through the game that will teach all the basics of how to play. Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello! My name is David (Evil Penguin). I've been playing D&D since 1985 with the original red box, i.e. I'm old. I went to college for creative writing. Then got a job in the film industry. So, I've pretty much built my whole life around the creative pursuits. Which makes me well suited for telling stories... my sessions that I have vary in type, but I try to mix elements of the big three: role-playing, exploration, and combat. Players will have an opportunity to at each of these at various times throughout a game. My general philosophy is that I, as a DM, have more fun when my players are having fun. Therefore, I try my best to give everyone at the table a chance to be the hero/anti-hero. Giving everyone a chance to shine... not just the OP fighter who min/maxed to be a killing machine... but also to the bard who just doesn't do that much in combat because their too busy talking their way out of most potentially hostile encounters. If you really want to get a sense of my GMing style, you can check out my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@EvilPenguinRPG New players to experienced are welcomed. I believe in a diverse, LGBTQ+ friendly, and INCLUSIVE table. If you are a nazi, racist, homophobe, transphobe, or any other sort of bigot, please stay away from my table. I have a zero tolerance policy for that at my table. Any of that and you will be dropped immediately. If you have to ask whether this statement is about you, it is.

I haven't been playing with David for long, but I definitely plan to stick around! David maintains a perfect balance between challenge and fun, ensuring everyone has a great time. He encourages roleplaying and makes sure every player has a chance to develop their characters in meaningful and interesting ways. David has a real knack for the game, and I highly recommend checking him out if you're looking for a good time!
David is a great DM. His #1 priority is that the players are having a good time. He is very gracious, even with a rules lawyer like myself. His campaigns have been a great balance of roleplaying, combat, and exploration. You can also tell he spends a lot of effort with his game's presentation. He's very tech savvy and has done some pretty incredible things with Foundry to make his game more immersive and add some nice quality of life improvements.

Safety
How EvilPenguin creates a safe table
First and foremost, I want everyone to be able to have fun and you can't have fun if you don't feel safe. So, safety is a top priority. At any time players can message me publicly or privately to tell me that they don't feel comfortable with something. At that point, the game will pause why we get it sorted out. EVERYONE is welcome at my table and everyone will feel safe and comfortable so we can all have an amazing and fun time together.
