About the adventure

Hundreds of years ago, a twisted land owner thought it would be a good idea to collect a bunch of monsters and lock them away under her lighthouse. Problem was, she didn't expect to die so suddenly. And like someone passing away before sharing any of her passwords, the aforementioned monster-bunch carried on without her. But now, a new disturbance calls upon a party of heroes to visit this monster community, knock on their doors at all hours, and demand they pipe down, or else! Explore the ABOMINATION VAULTS, and enjoy the beautiful seaside town of Otari both from above... and beneath!

About me

Back in the day, I played AD&D every Sunday at noon. The DMs were two brothers who took turns. I had never really been friends with them before that. We played until dinner. We were into it. I played Felris Quickfingers, Svirfneblin Jester. I could never figure out how anyone DMed the game and I never cared to learn. The same could be said for working in a middle school, which I had also sworn off ever doing, but found myself doing one day. I started social groups using DnD and Pathfinder. It was awesome teaching kids DnD and building relationships that way. Eventually, I switched to playing with friends and family during the pandemic. Now, I DM almost exclusively. I foolishly thought I would DM to inspire my players to also become DMs. In the meantime, I discovered I love the range of creativity this hobby brings out in us all, and all the ways it brings people together.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will begin at level 1. I have all 15 iconic Pathfinder characters as playable options. We can also build one together, by messaging, or scheduling a separate Session Zero. (That means you make and introduce characters to each other and learn about the setting, etc).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Create characters if you have the knowhow, want to learn by yourself, or only need a little help. If you're totally new, use a pre-generated character! We will play on Foundry VTT and use Discord for voice and text. Sign up for Discord and The Forge accounts ahead of time if you wish, or when I send the invites.

What Jake Ware brings to the table

There will be tons of fun digital materials! Nothing is required for you to bring, except snacks! (Teleport me mine).

Homebrew rules

I don't have any major differences in the Pathfinder rules. I like following the rules.

How Jake Ware creates a safe table

I have been an educator for 24 years. I am naturally always assessing the understanding and comfort of those I am instructing. If I miss something, please do not hesitate to message me and I will be happy to accommodate. I will usually stop to see if there are any questions, and I encourage you to ask them!
