About the adventure
Welcome to the table! Icewind Dale is a darker, more gothically inclined part of Faerun. You and your character will both get your feet under you and learn the basics fast enough to dive into the deep end of mystery and adventure. There is room here for any class, from a bard fleeing WaterDeep, to a homegrown Goliath Barbarian and any core character build in between. Hoping to bring in something different? Shoot me a message and I'll be happy to talk it through with you. We will follow the basic path of the module, but with plenty of additional content from multiple sources; making it a good game for folks who are new to the Dale, or for heroes returning to try a new strategy at tackling the tundra. A balance of RP opportunities and fast-moving combat Sessions are weekly, and three hours long to keep things manageable for attention spans and game/life balance. You shouldn't have to wait for an entirely free Saturday to play! Our table is welcoming and affirming for new players, veteran players, players of all races and cultures, neurodiverse players, LGBT+++, and any other player you happen to be. In short the only thing we don't tolerate is hate. If you would benefit from accommodation please let me know; I'm sure we can make it work for you.

About me
A lifelong lover of playing make believe and battling evil, or just cavorting around a carnival. I lead games with a variety of tones designed to meet the vibe my players enjoy, wether its a light hearted sandbox or an epic tale of armageddon.

Creating your character
Once you sign up I will reach out to you to go over character creation, safety features, and answer any questions you may have. All official sources are welcome for character creation, and if you have something else in mind we can talk it through to see what will work. I've allowed trees before, so odds are we can find a way to make it work. Stats are with point buy, and level 1 gets an optional feat. Y'all are heroes-to-be afterall.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Once you register and we talk, I'll get you connected with our Discord Server. Maps are on Roll20, and character sheets can be either Roll20 or DndBeyond. You'll need a computer with a working mic and a reliable internet connection.
What Capi brings to the table
I strive for a balanced table-think of GMing as a mental wobble board. While we are playing in the framework, and following the rules of Dnd5e, You'll have plenty of opportunities for RP and creative problem solving is rewarded. Do I do voices? Yes. Am I the best voice actor ever? Probably not, but my players have always appreciated the NPCs we have. Basic groundrules are no pvp, respect player and gm boundaries. Feedback is welcome between sessions. We will be in touch between sessions using Discord, especially towards the beginning as we get to know each other as players and set the tone and vibe of the group.

How Capi creates a safe table
Before you join the table, I will ask you to complete an RPG Consent Checklist so that we can co-create the lines and veils of the group. X,N,O,? cards are applied on Roll20 and a direct messaging/whispers channel is always open when we are playing.
