About the adventure
This is an intro module to Shadowdark RPG for brand new players. Please join with absolutely 0 experience and you'll see how easy it is to play! I got you! We will roll together random characters in a matter of seconds; the dice will decide our fates, so be ready to embrace chaos, randomness... and a brutal deadly adventure! This 'gauntlet' is a dungeon crawl for level 0 characters; peasants and commoners with nothing epic about them... yet! Survive, punch skeletons to death or just run faster than your friends, and you'll be set free to start your journey as a hero! Manage the scraps of loot you find like it's vital, keep THE one torch your party has lit and safe or face absolute darkness! Each Player will have a pool of random characters to cycle through when one inevitably meets their destiny. But most importantly, be nice to each other and get ready for some good laughs!

Creating your character
Character creation in Shadowdark is completely random and super fast! I will guide you through it in less than 10 minutes. You will roll 3d6 per stat (STR/DEX/CON...), a 1d6 to determine your ancestry (Human/Elf...) and you will start with 1d4 random items in your inventory! That's it!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll just need a Discord account to talk together and we will play on https://www.owlbear.rodeo/ which is extremely easy to use and doesn't even require to have an account. We can also use Google Meet or similar platforms based on preferences.
What WrongSideUSB brings to the table
We will be using the rules from the free Shadowdark RPG 'Player Quickstart Guide' pdf and the FREE 'Game Master Quickstart Guide' pdf which you can find online. I will guide through some basic controls in owlbear too, and you'll be able to move your own characters.
Homebrew rules
Shadowdark simplifies a lot of the mechanics in D&D5e. With limited amount of actions one can do the game suddenly become much smoother but also challenging and rewarding! During our session you can ask me as many questions as you'd like.

How WrongSideUSB creates a safe table
RPGs are for EVERYONE. This one-shot doesn't touch on any concerning topic besides your classic character's death. However players can immediately flag to me in private or out loud any behaviors or situations they don't feel comfortable with as the game goes on. Respect for each other is the key here and as the DM I will call out any suspicious activity.
