About the adventure
Welcome aboard the Godrender—an ancient, creaking astral locomotive racing through the void, a last refuge for civilization’s survivors and a rotting playground for its masters. This train isn’t a haven. It’s a deathtrap. In the gleaming front cars, arcane aristocrats and technomancers hoard resources and power. In the middle, merchants and tradesfolk barter, connive, and endure. And in the back—where the dregs fight for scraps and blood—whispers of rebellion churn beneath the screech of steel and voidwinds. 🔮 Godrender: The Riftline Rebellion is a D&D 5e campaign where high magic collides with cosmic horror and desperate survival. Inspired by Snowpiercer, Spelljammer, and Planescape, the setting melds brutal class warfare, political intrigue, and high-octane action. This isn’t just a ride through the stars—it’s a fight for dominance in a realm where spells crackle through sealed compartments, revolutions ignite in shadowy corners, and the very core of the train hides a secret older and darker than the void itself. 🎲 This game is for players who love gritty roleplay, layered social conflict, and cinematic combat in confined, shifting environments. Expect high-stakes decisions, desperate alliances, and the ever-present risk of betrayal. Whether you’re a jaded noble, a cunning saboteur, or a scrappy survivor from the back cars, your choices will shape the fate of the Godrender—and everyone trapped within its iron belly. 💀 If you’re drawn to tales of power, revolution, and survival in a high-magic, low-trust world, grab your ticket. But know this: in the Astral Sea, there are no happy endings. Just winners—and bodies.

About me
I'm currently a House DM at The Kobold Lounge, where I run 3 homebrew campaigns for adults, as well as an introductory game for kids and another for teens. I started with a weekly game at my house. Shortly after I learned to play, I had to move. To keep up with my new hobby, I found and joined ahome game that was posted online. It was a terrible experience. Nobody at the table was having fun except for the DM, who delighted in playing against his party. His players looked and sounded bored, almost miserable; I never went back. Instead, I decided to start my own game with one goal: to make sure everyone has fun! -- If money is an obstacle, please DM me. I care more about us having fun than making money. I put a lot of effort into becoming the DM I am today, I make immersive, creative content that literally over a hundred players have loved & that's why I'm here. I'd like to make a living doing this, but I care about my players & that's never going to change.--- I started running my first homebrew D&D campaign in 2016. Since then I've engaged in collaborative storytelling with a ton of amazing players. I enjoy being a Sandbox DM, and I love players with unique ideas they want to try. My tables, physical and virtual, are the place to try out that crazy character idea or homebrewed subclass. I want to DM on StartPlaying to reach a wide player base, bring people together to have a blast, and provide opportunities for players everywhere to participate in my games.

Creating your character
Rolled stats, rerolling any and all 1's. Any official or partnered content, 5e + 2024 is acceptable. Almost any homebrew is fine, just run it by me first. You can come to Session 0 with your character built, but there will be time set aside for building / tweaking during that session.

What DM Nug Gnome brings to the table
🎲 What I Provide My Players I bring you a game where storytelling and strategy are fused together in the heart of a living, breathing world. Expect deep, immersive roleplay as I breathe life into a vast cast of fully fleshed-out NPCs—with unique voices, complex backstories, and real stakes. These characters aren’t just here for window dressing; they’ll become trusted allies, deadly enemies, or perhaps both. In Godrender: The Riftline Rebellion, the world itself is a dangerous and dynamic character. Whether you're sneaking through a shadowy railcar, trading hushed words with a voidborn informant, or standing defiant before a gunmetal noble, the world will feel alive, textured, and unforgiving. When it comes to combat, I bring the heat. Expect intense, tactical encounters where enemies fight smart, use their environments, and push you to your limits. I don't just throw stat blocks at you—I craft encounters with purpose, where positioning, resource management, and player ingenuity matter. You’ll find that each fight carries weight, forcing you to think on your feet and embrace the chaos. And when the moment calls for it, I live by the Rule of Cool. Clever plans, cinematic moves, and risky gambits are all welcome at my table. I’ll reward your creativity and your willingness to make the game your own. If you’re looking for a campaign that combines high-stakes roleplay, brutal tactical combat, and a DM who’s here to tell a story with you, not at you, this is your ride. Buckle up.
