About the adventure

Step into a realm of sinister secrets in this nail biting campaign that will see you traversing the multiverse to stop the evil lich god Vecna. The story will start out in the bustling city of Neverwinter where the players are tasked with retrieving several high-profile individuals that have disappeared. This epic tier adventure will have you traversing many iconic settings such as; The Underdark, Spelljammer (Astral Sea), Ebberon, and many more as you try to gather the multiple pieces of a legendary artifact to stop the sinister cult. In this edition of VEoR you will find yourselves facing many powerful foes as your character becomes an epic force to be reckoned with. There will be many homebrew rules, magic items, monsters, character features, and spells. I like my campaigns to feel epic so join me as we test the boundaries of D&D 5e 2024 that many DM's don't dare to tread. Players will bring - a 10th level character created on dndbeyond using 2024 players handbook and any other source materials they may possess, a descriptive backstory that we may use to incorporate your characters goals and tell an immersive story for each and every player that remains as adaptable as the players at the table, a knowledge of D&D 5e, experience with a VTT (I use foundry and as such players with a knowledge of foundry are not required but preferred), and last but not lease players will bring a mindset with an emphasis on roleplaying as we tell this epic story.

About me

Greeting adventurers, Come with me on an epic tale of rich storytelling experience that is immersive featuring 4k animated maps, dynamic background music to accompany the roller coaster of emotions you will experience in my games, and strategic combat encounters that will test your mettle. I strive to ensure every session is a mix of excitement, mystery, and roleplaying player driven choices. To challenge my players I run intense combat and dynamic scenes featuring many homebrewed monsters and scenarios. I run an open and inclusive table using Foundry VTT. At my table players will feel at ease and are here for an epic escape away from the real world. Once the session starts after the recap we will leave all politics and IRL troubles at the door of the hypothetical dungeon. I utilize a green, yellow, and red flag principle for any triggers that may come up within my games and if something is triggering you within my session you can simple message me via discord and we will redirect to avoid and detailed description going forward. I have been playing TTRPGs with a heavy focus on Dungeons & Dragons for the past 18 years. Most of my time I have been a player but in recent times I have grown tired of sessions not feeling epic and players steamrolling campaigns, so I have set out to change that within my own games. Character creation

Creating your character

Each player will start with a modified array of ability scores of : 18, 17, 15, 14, 12, 10 that may be allocated as players see fit. Each player will also start with magic items such as; 1 very rare (can be a personalized legacy item that the players and I will work towards creating) 2 rare, 2 uncommon, 2 common, 1 potion of healing, 1 potion of healing greater, 1 potion of healing superior, and 1 uncommon consumable of their choice. Each player will also start with 1000gp for any spell components or other items they may need. We will be using a "Diablo" style attunement system where you may have an item regardless of attunement as long as you do not have another item that uses that same slot.

Players will need to not only bring their characters but also have a discord account and joined the voice server, as well as a reliable mic during session.

What Cassien brings to the table

I use Foundry VTT and all players will provide a character through dndbeyond for character importation. I will provide a dndbeyond adventure link as needed however as I am just starting out online I only have the 2024 character creation books but I can create any features from other books be it 3rd party or other WoTC posted content within foundry. I provide high resolution usually animated maps for complete immersion within my games and either DM or player created top down tokens using heroforge. Inside my games their will be NPC voices, ambient music, intense combat, and a rule of cool mindset.

Homebrew rules

Critical Hits - will be calculated as full damage plus 1 roll of damage die. Ability Scores - Players will start with a modified array of 17,16,15,14,12,10 I allow self beneficial action at the start of combat that will not interrupt action economy or the flow of combat (for example this would be a barbarian entering rage, or a wizard casting mage armor) Intimidation checks - I allow Str to be used in place of Cha for intimidation checks if the player chooses. Rule of Cool - I enjoy creative problem solving and we can work together to bring that cool idea to life and give it plenty of flavor. Attunement - We will be using a "Diablo/MMO" style attunement system, where if you can wear it you will not be limited to 3 attunement slots. This means you can have a piece of clothing or equipment on every part of your body and still get benefits from them, we will be limited to 2 ring slots however.

How Cassien creates a safe table

Players can expect fast paced combat and a rules of cool experience. Should any safety tools or after care be needed during or post session please message me through discord and we can talk about any issues that need to be discussed going forward. If there is a hard trigger during the session please message or say red flag and we will do our best to circumvent the scenario and try to limit any further issues in the future.
