About the adventure

Knowledge was Power but that civilization fell. Now indecipherable kohd travels the spires to the Motherboard without human intervention. Could a virus stop it for good or will you learn to kohd? In the ruins of a world walled cities are built on the bones of skyscrapers. Outside in the unforgiving wastes, autonomous machines run wild and wandering mech cities scavenge for scrap. In this setting, any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology. Any spell that would create a magical effect in fantasy creates a technological effect here. You character will experience exciting and unique technology and people trying to survive through hardship. You will create a shared language with the other players to represent technology that you know about that your characters do not. What do your characters think those AOL CDs are? We'll build this campaign together as Daggerheart intended! Using the guidelines in the Daggerheart core book, I'll craft the campaign based on the details you provide. Daggerheart uses 2 D12 dice for most rolls. These duality dice mean that not only do you succeed or fail, you do so with Hope or with Fear! We will learn as we play. I will introduce rules as they come up in play and walk through them with you. I'll also provide a rules reference sheet before the game.

About me

I'm here for collaborative storytelling and world-building. I aim to create a welcoming space for players to try new things, have fun and share our enthusiasm for RPGs. From hunting vampires to becoming vampires, I'll lead your characters on a fulfilling journey and we'll spin a good yarn together. I love to introduce beginners to ttrpgs and new games. I try a lot of new games myself so I am very familiar with how it feels to learn something new. I hope I'm able to help my players delight in learning games. My background includes training people at work and writing instructions. Helping people play games is a fun way to use that skill set. I've been organizing a TTRPG meetup for 5 years focused on creating a welcoming space for marginalized gamers. I helped guide the group to be open to all genders. Running the group really helps me to see how to create a supportive environment for marginalized people and how that environment supports the larger community. The biggest game I ever ran was a 20 person West Marches campaign. That game honed my communication and organization skills and certainly helped me to negotiate tricky situations between players. Making people feel welcome and comfortable in this amazing TTRPG space is my primary goal.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will have the opportunity to create a character in Demiplane or Roll20 if you prefer. Links will be available in prep materials.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a mic. Camera optional. Demiplane for character sheets. You'll need to login to Demiplane through a web browser. We'll use Discord for voice/video. You'll need a Discord account. I will go over the rules at the beginning of the session but I'll provide a rules summary for those that would like to read the rules beforehand.

What al brings to the table

We'll be using Demiplane sheets for this adventure. I'll bring my troubleshooting expertise to help you get setup. Daggerheart is a game of rulings rather than exhaustive rules. I'll provide consistent rulings and direct communication so you know what to expect. I want you to relax and have fun. The narrative should surprise you and I hope you surprise yourself but my rulings shouldn't surprise you. Daggerheart is for everyone! This is a fantasy roleplaying game where we tell heartfelt stories of magic together. In this game, everyone is a storyteller, not just the GM. Daggerheart works best when every player is working together. This kind of storytelling isn't always perfect. Let yourself make mistakes and change things. I'll create the space to build trust so we can craft meaningful stories together. The most important rule of Daggerheart is that we make it our own!
