About me
I'm here for collaborative storytelling and world-building. I aim to create a welcoming space for players to try new things, have fun and share our enthusiasm for RPGs. I especially enjoy running rules-lite systems for small groups. Most of my experience running games has come from organizing a tabletop group focused on making sure people underrepresented in the TTRPG industry have a place at our table. I learned a lot running a 20 player West Marches campaign in 2020. Making people feel welcome and comfortable in this amazing TTRPG space is my primary goal.
GM Style
We're telling a story together. I begin with a session zero where everyone will describe what they want out of the game and set ground rules. We'll fill out a palette document to confirm what elements we do and do not want to see in game. Then, we begin our story. I facilitate role play and encourage players to add to the world we are building together. My games often have a dark tone with plenty of comic relief, or they lean into cosmic absurdity. My games tend towards social interaction and exploration more than combat. Should combat occur, RUN.

Al is a great GM! I had always wanted to try Call of Cthulhu and thanks to them I get the chance. Al explained character building very well, clearly knows the system and the setting, and is great at facilitating spotlight-sharing between players. Also it was very spooky! Al also provided a very in-depth session 0, which really helps you feel safe, and checks in with the players to make sure of any updates needed to the safety tools. Definitely recommend!!
The dm with the most in depth session zero I have seen! It’s very precise and clear I n player and gm limits for a smoother in game experience and expectations set out for both sides. Within the first session they were very open with what the game was about and honest about what trigger warnings would apply!
al did a great job facilitating those of us new to the system we were playing and did an awesome job creating a world for us to explore. They build the scene and then allowed us to live in it and experience the story from our various characters points of view. Excellent session, well facilitated, voiced, and executed. Super fun and would highly recommend them!
