About the adventure
"The wise and the foolish risk their fortunes in the Shadowdark. The darkness decides who is who."---Unknown Adventurer Shadowdark is a fast paced, rules light, dark fantasy and horror game. It uses simplified rules to speed up play. The Western Marches is the first official campaign setting for Shadowdark, and thanks to The Arcane Library for giving us the chance to check it out! This one shot adventure is for 3-5 players. It will last for about three hours, and will include a quick primer of the rules and a dive into the Shadowdark itself. There are fell creatures lurking in the darkness, yes. But the true enemy is the darkness itself.

About me
I'm JD, Dave to my friends. I've been an avid player of TTRPGs since 1990, and have been running them since way back when. I have been using Roll20 since 2019, and have been a professional DM since 2022. I am a husband and father, with a background in live theater. I have taught literally hundreds of people to play a variety of games, and am looking forward to doing the same for you. In addition to Dungeons & Dragons 5e, I also run the 20th Anniversary Edition of White Wolf Game Studio's classic World of Darkness games, Scion 1st edition, Exalted 2nd edition, and several others available on request. Some of my games focus on mature themes. Some are more light-hearted, and are kid friendly (PUGMIRE is a great game for kids 10 and up!). Session 0 is always free, and is where a group will discuss the expectations of the group, and establish the tone of our games.

I employ vivid language to engage your imagination. Come to the table prepared to be cast into the darkness. The question is, are you prepared to find your way back?

How JDtheST creates a safe table
This is a game for mature audiences. It will include adult language, graphically described violence and horror, and the strong possibility of character death. However, this is also a one shot. If something comes up in the course of play that makes you uncomfortable, we can take a break to discuss it privately, and I will attempt to steer away from known issues such as intense phobias or triggering circumstances.
