About the adventure
The God-King Othedias betrayed the Pantheon, provoking divine punishment and abandonment by the Old Gods, that left the realm of the Halcyon Domain shattered, desolate, and eternally cursed. Throughout this miasma-choked land of decaying fortresses and dreadful monstrosities, surviving communities cling to hope in the face of oblivion. You are one of the heroic survivors who protect their loved ones from the terrors beyond their walls, venture out into the unknown to hunt the nightmares that twist and grow with each fallen soul, seek out answers to the mysterious curses corrupting the world, and perhaps even discover a way to change your fate. 🎭 Roleplay focus | ⚔️ Tense Combat | 🤝 Collaborative Worldbuilding | 🔰 Learn to Play and Beginner Friendly | 🏳️🌈+ GM and World Campaign Tone & Feel: Epic, Grim, Ominous, Terrifying, Tragic, Ancient, Daunting Themes: Apocalypse, Corruption, Darkness vs Light, Survival, Hope, Redemption. About me
I've been running roleplaying games since 1980. I'm new-ish to hosting games on-line, but what I may lack in technical expertise I hope to make up for in enthusiasm and making it fun for you! I play "rule of cool" and I look forward to roleplay with you!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
We will create characters together in a collaborative (free) session 0, where your characters will learn about each other and make connections, as well as collectively start to define more of the world itself! I will share a link to the Demiplane digital character creation system where you can see all the character background classes, heritages (races) and powers. Anyone that joins later or needs a new character, will create a character at the party's current level. Before the next game session, I will have a private discussion with you that substitutes the Session 0 you missed.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Bring your creativity and energy! That is the most important thing. You need a mic to chat on my discord channel (I'll provide link) You need a computer that can access the Demiplane link (no subscription or purchase required). We will roll dice on Demiplane (we may use another mechanism once Demiplane integrations with VTTs have improved)
What Swords and Sorcery brings to the table
I am a Rule of Cool GM with 45 years experience running fantasy role-playing games. I emphasize your ability to describe your character's actions and interactions with the world and enemies, and use the game mechanics to make your actions colourful and real. A lot of this campaign will be theatre of the mind played over discord. I will provide images from the rulebook, world map, and other sources which I will share on discord. I do character voices to make them come alive.
