About the adventure
Your friend has mysteriously vanished, leaving only a cryptic note saying they will try to save you. Your search uncovers a strange tome foretelling your gruesome death at the hands of an ancient mummy in an ancient tomb. Diviners insist the only way to escape your fate is to face it. Now, you enter the tomb to find your friend, and meet your destiny. Grave peril awaits you: dangerous guardians who can crush you like a walnut, traps that could shrive your mind, a riddling sphinx as likely to kill as to help, and a powerful demigod who sees you as their path to immortality... Can you change your fate? Or will you bodies pave your enemy's path to godhood?

About me
Greetings! I'm Justinian, a history and mythology nerd and “forever GM”. I've been fascinated by stories and games since childhood, and I’ve been running Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition campaigns for over six years! I run revised Wizards of the Coast modules (including Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus, Candlekeep Mysteries, Radiant Citadel, Spelljammer, Strixhaven, and Wild beyond the Witchlight) as well as custom Greek mythology, Theros, and Forgotten Realms adventures. All my games are LGBTQ+ and beginner friendly, and I onboard new players individually to get a sense of player preferences and group fit! My greatest joy as a GM is seeing players implement creative ideas and turn them into victories. I've seen players successfully cast suggestion to magically persuade a guardian to defend against other intruders in a tomb, adopt a slaadi tadpole as an (illegal) school pet, and infiltrate an enemy lair by pretending to be safety inspectors. I look forward to many more moments like these!

Creating your character
Players should bring a Level 11 character for 2024 rules in the D&D Beyond campaign with the following rules: • Standard array or point buy (27) stat creation • Fixed hitpoints • Core (2014/2024) and expanded content only (no Critical Role, Magic: The Gathering, Partnered, etc. content, including spells like Silvery Barbs) • Standard starting equipment • One uncommon magic item from Basic Rules, Dungeon Master Guide, Bigby's, Fizban's, or Tasha's only • 100 gold pieces to spend on equipment (from Player's Handbook), including potions of healing • No racial feats • Multiclass is acceptable. • Send me hi-res character art or a token to represent your character on battlemaps • Brief backstory is advisable but not required. Character hooks will be provided in the Discord channel.

How Justinian creates a safe table
If you are new to my games, please message me your Discord username to set up an onboarding session to discuss campaign rules and expectations and safety tools (including lines and veils). Players will be required to agree to a code of conduct on the campaign Discord server that bans harassment, bigotry of any kind (including homophobia, racism, sexism, transphobia), and other harmful behavior. Lines and veils for the group will be shared ahead of the adventure and may be added to, and players may discuss safety situations at the table during the game or anonymously message me to raise concerns to be discussed at the table. There will be a 10-minute break approximately midway every session. This adventure contains quite a lot of body horror, including some gore, and some characters who the villain forced to work for them.
