About the adventure

Dive headfirst into the zany and spellbinding world of Darrington Press' Daggerheart with the Summer Campaign starting with a session 0. A homegrown campaign using the Witherwild Campaign Frame and its unique Wither Mechanic. When the nation of Haven invades a once-sacred forest, the balance of nature is thrown into chaos. Now, an overgrowth called the Witherwild is spreading fast, warping creatures, corrupting the land, and calling to those who would heed its whispers. Play as humble heroes who must reckon with duty, legacy, and the creeping corruption of Fanewick’s wilds. No need to read the whole manuscript! The Witherwild is serving up a hearty slice of the Daggerheart pie with no previous know-how required. We'll start with a session 0 to create characters and start with an adventure based on the starting playtest. But for those who haven't played. You're more than welcome as we'll be covering: - Explaining Character Sheets - How to use Demiplane - Learning Duality Dice - Using the No Initiative Combat System We'll be using Discord for voice and Demiplane for character sheets.

I've had the pleasure of playing with GM RiceKombo in both D&D 5e and Daggerheart, and I can honestly say each experience has been fantastic. Whether it’s classic dungeon delving or exploring the strange magic of Fanewick, they consistently bring creativity, flexibility, and a real passion for storytelling to the table.

RiceKombo is an INCREDIBLE GM! He got us off to a solid start with an expertly delivered rules rundown, transitioned us into a fun little session zero, and then the adventure itself was a dream! I LOVED how he actively encouraged the players to have a bit of fun with injecting our own details (only if we were comfortable doing so) and then used these ideas to feed the story. Fantastic, fiction-forward fantasy. Do NOT sleep on booking a session with RiceKombo!

I recently had the pleasure of participating in a Daggerheart one-shot ran by Rice. He demonstrated great talent as a gamemaster creating a captivating and immersive experience by adapting on the fly to the players prompts and additions to the story. Rice was able to provide a concise breakdown of the game rules that players needed to know which is impressive for a game that is currently in Open beta and changing consistently. I highly recommend signing on for an upcoming session!

Amazing storyteller! I love how he included everyone in the group to participate and create a moment/event that happens to build a world our characters are a part of. He knows the Daggerheart system that he runs and can easily allow players the freedom to be creative and roleplay a scene. RiceKombo can as easily guide players when they're unsure of what next steps to take. I would recommend any veterans and new players to TTRPG to have him run a game for them, especially those interested in Daggerheart. Would love to have him GM some more.

I absolutely love the way that Rice runs his games! He has been super helpful with my newbie self and is great at letting us help to describe the scene.

Safety
How GM RiceKombo creates a safe table

To ensure everyone's comfort and safety during our game sessions, we employ several safety tools and practices. Here’s a breakdown of how we handle this: Lines and Veils Document: Before we even start, please fill out the link on Google Docs to our Lines and Veils document. This document helps outline boundaries and comfort levels regarding game content. Please review it and feel free to add your input. It’s important that everyone's on the same page. X, N, & O's: We use digital signals for our X (stop), N (pause or caution), and O (everything's okay) during the game. This can be through a private message to me or a signal in our group chat. It’s a discreet way to communicate comfort levels in real-time. Most Importantly I operate with an Open Door policy. I’m always open to feedback, whether about gameplay mechanics, narrative direction, or interpersonal dynamics. Let's keep the conversation open to ensure our game remains enjoyable and inclusive for all.
