The Forest of Celador
Explore what the elves have left behind in their retreat. Long-forgotten treasures and dangers await our adventurers.
About the adventure
For long ages the Elves of Celador defended their domain vigorously. While many races lived under the supremacy of the elves, the incursion from the outside was violently discouraged. The 200 years ago, unbidden, the Elves retracted their defenses, and allowed settlements at the edge of the woods. while their core territories are still guarded, many new cultures have expanded into the area. Our campaign will begin in Daven's Falls, a logging, hunting and portaging community at the base of a moderate waterfall. It lies not too far from the edge of the forest, but is certainly far enough in that the elves of old would not let it exist. Largely settled by humans, with a smattering of other races, it boasts a reputation as a bustling village on the rise, a local trade hub and a self-reliant populace. You have been called to the Sinking Castle tavern to meet with Undermayor Harbin, who you've heard might have a problem in need of your skills.

Knows the Rules
I've been playing in a campaign with Robin for the past couple of years (as well as several one-shots) and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Her campaigns are a great mix of epic battles and engrossing narrative and storylines. I think Robin is especially good for new players. I was a total novice when I started and Robin was a huge help with creating my first character and filling out their backstory. She's always been patient with any of my mid-game questions and has never made me feel out of place for not being up to the same experience level as the other players. I always look forward to our game nights.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be 3rd level D&D 5E 2024 rules, most pre-2024 content allowed with tweaks. I have a few backgrounds I add to give more flexibility, and I'm totally okay with a player wanting a completely custom background. No races from 2014 Eberron sourcebooks, versions in MotM are okay. We will use point buy, but for 32 points. Fixed Hit Points, Milestone leveling. Standard Starting Equipment plus 100gp. The first session will be a free session 0 including the start of character creation.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Device with a minimum available resolution of 1024px by 700px, not counting toolbars and such. Mouse and keyboard, as I have not tested Foundry's optional touchscreen modules. It will be voice chat, so a microphone and either headphones or a speaker. Discord is a must.
What Robin Gauthier brings to the table
I plan to run these games using Foundry VTT, with all characters being input directly there. I do my own maps and make a variety of types of token images. I have a distinct style of description where I use evocative words to bring out the world from your own memories. I'm flexible with the rules, but consistent, and prefer a playstyle that takes the game world seriously, even if there are jokes poking fun at it.
Homebrew rules
Using 2024 Rules, with most 2014 supplemental material added. Full Action potions heal max. Several Additional Backgrounds provided, open to custom backgrounds.

Safety
How Robin Gauthier creates a safe table
I tend to have a light hand with graphic and triggering stuff, so I usually just have a casual talk during Session 0.
