About me
Making the Old School the new cool. Greetings TTRPG fans, my name is Kimo (Key-Mo), and I'm a forever GM/DM. I started playing TTRPGs way back in the '70s, and it saved my life in more ways than one – a compelling story I am happy to share with my players. I stopped playing in the mid-'90s, but now I'm back as a Gygaxian agent of the golden age of role-playing games. I specialize in Old School AD&D 1e, but I will happily run campaigns in 5e, as well as GM my favorites from the TSR collection, including Gamma World, Top Secret, Boot Hill, and Jeff Dee's Villains and Vigilantes.

Character creation
Creating your character
Typically character creation takes place during zero sessions, however, if you already have a character or an already established party ready to go, a zero session can be skipped by providing the GM with copies of your characters sheets, characters backstories, party goals, and any other pertinent information in advance of your first campaign session.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The very minimum you will need play: You will want to bring your character information to each session and whatever accoutrement that helps you record and monitor your progress during game play. You will also need a PC, with a webcam and mic, as well as a relatively quiet place to engage with the campaign. System compatibility: Depending on what platform(s) are used, you will need a players account for Discord, Roll20, and or D&D Beyond. Zoom, Microsoft Teams and or Google Meets. I encourage players to bring the following to the game table: Personal writing implements, a note book, scratch paper, personal dice & dice tray, mini's that represent their character(s), Additional comfort items: Bottled water, snacks, and warm clothing to reduce time away from the table.

Safety
How Old School Game Master - Kimo creates a safe table
We discuss game safety during Session Zero covering any concerns players may have with content and conduct. If a Zero session is skipped players will be asked to submit their personal concerns directly to the GM prior to Session One. A subsequent discussion will be initiated before game play and players will agree to the process of handling safety issues and establishing parameters to ensure everyone at the table is comfortable and acknowledged.
