About the adventure
Once upon a time, a princess was cursed to sleep forever, locked away in a forgotten castle overgrown with thorns. The legends speak of lost love, a jealous fairy, and a fate woven with magic, but not all fairy tales tell the whole truth. In this two-shot adventure, you and your fellow heroines and heroes will embark on a perilous quest to uncover the secrets of the Briar Princess. You’ll explore an enchanted forest filled with trickster creatures, navigate the echoes of a crumbling castle frozen in time, and face a choice that could change the course of fate itself. Along the way, you’ll use wit, courage, and your own fairy-tale gifts to unravel the mystery behind the curse. Creating your character
I have some premade characters to pick from for this game, each with a picture, name, and a wide variety of stats and skills. However, if you would really like to create your own character from scratch, I am happy to help you before the game takes place!
Our first session will be on Sunday, June 15th.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Equipment A clear, working microphone is required. Please make sure your microphone is working before the session. Headphones are a very good idea, if possible, in order to prevent disruptions from ambient noise. A webcam for video is not needed, but is welcome and encouraged. Software An account with Discord is required, but Foundry VTT does not need one. We will be using Discord for voice chat and general game management, and Foundry VTT for visual content. Foundry VTT is best used on a computer. Both are free to use. https://discord.com/ Game Understanding and Virtual Tabletop Use Familiarity with the rules is helpful but not at all mandatory. We'll clarify rules as we go and support our new players! The same goes for your understanding of Foundry VTT. Mindset Come prepared to be part of a deeply engaging narrative adventure! This game thrives on teamwork, imaginative thinking, and mutual respect.
What Vee brings to the table
A Discord server will be set up for the game. There will be background music and ambient sounds for atmosphere played during the game. The session will use theatre of the mind with images of characters and some settings. We will be using Foundry VTT for the visual and audio content. My approach balances the game's overall experience with a reasonable adherence to rules, emphasizing creative storytelling while ensuring gameplay remains structured and coherent. Expect a lively, engaging game with me, where the rules are respected but not to an excessive degree, allowing for a fluid, role-playing rich experience.

How Vee creates a safe table
During the session, we will use X, N, and O Cards to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience: X – Stops the scene immediately; we’ll fade to black or shift the focus. N – A warning that we’re approaching an uncomfortable topic, so we can adjust. O – Signals enthusiastic consent and excitement for the scene. At the end of the game, we will use Stars & Wishes to reflect on what we enjoyed and what we’d love to see more of in future games. This is a roleplay-heavy adventure with emotional stakes, and I want to ensure everyone feels good about their experience. If you have any specific concerns or needs, feel free to reach out before or after the session.
