About the adventure
After the recent defeat of a crazed warband led by the now-dead Pasu Moda, most thought that the mountain-valley region of Alealamia would be at peace. Despite that, the morning fog is heavy with fear. People whisper of a lost connection to the gods. Cleric magic is failing. The mines have had higher rates of collapse and a foot shortage rakes across the northern mountain range. Something is wrong and no one has dared to find out what... Until now. Join the adventure in the humble town of South Salt. Learn more about the strange happenings after the defeat of warlord Pasu Moda. Enter a world where several campaigns are building up a grand story unlike any you have seen before. This game is good for new and experienced players. It will be a roleplay and puzzle-heavy story that takes place in a high fantasy realm. Other adventuring groups span the continent, but this one will focus on the Alealamia mountain-valley range. Will you rise as heroes or join the forces that intend to destroy the once-lovely way of living?

About me
Howdy! I'm Alex (he/him), a trans man from Georgia. I work as a ghost writer and commission author, which has allowed me years of experience in world-building and storytelling. My BFA is in Acting for Stage and Screen. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for over 12 years, with a general focus on D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder 1st Edition. These days, I tend to DM 5th Edition and Pathfinder, though I have finished two campaigns in other systems. I love writing, gardening, gaming, and group storytelling.

Creating your character
Character Creation will happen during session 0. We will start at Level 2 and calculate stats using the point buy system. I will guide new players through these character creation steps. A player may bring a premade character in, but I will have to approve it during session 0. Any officially published books may be used, though I cannot guarantee that I have all of them.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a microphone to participate in gameplay, as well as accounts on both Roll20 and DnDBeyond. It is recommended that players bring a webcam, but not required. I also recommend a program to allow you to take notes. Anything from Google Docs to a piece of paper will work. I allow players to roll real-life dice so long as they have webcams, as most online dice rolling simulators are very bad.
What Alex brings to the table
I have a collection of 5e books on D&DBeyond, as well as a community of active and experienced players on our Discord. I have a premium Roll20 membership, which allows players to join in games on mobile and allows cool map features. I do character voices, build out lore, and focus on character relationships. When there is combat, it leans more tactical, but I prefer the rule of cool. Rules are there for me to decide how things work, but I have the final say. I have a few homebrew rules that I like to play with, but they rarely impact gameplay. I use skill challenges to create more dynamic roleplay scenarios, that way a character will always feel useful. Homebrew is allowed, but only after I authorize it. Much of my story is based around character backstory and the stories players want to tell with their character. I aim to include aspects of character development in each session, with at least one per character.
Homebrew rules
Most homebrew is in items or story progression. Players may ask about homebrew, but it must be approved before use.

How Alex creates a safe table
I start every game with a Session Zero (that is free) where we discuss limits, expectations, and character building. We often build characters during this session. I hand out a trigger checklist I have used many times before. These tell me where hard limits are so that I can avoid them during the game. After intense sessions, we may sit and hang out to discuss things for players. If a player needs to back out, they may message me privately. If a player is nonverbal, I allow them to use the group chat on discord to discuss their character actions.
