About the adventure
Order 66: the annihilation of the Jedi Order. But the ways of the Jedi are not lost to the galaxy... they are survived in you, the last vestige of their ideals, holders of a dying flame. With the galaxy changing rapidly, holding to your ideals might make survival difficult. Will you compromise your morality, or remain steadfast in the ways of the Jedi? And what of the strange mysteries in the Force that you are beginning to unravel? Where will you stand if the Force is not simply just Light and Dark? But before you can answer these questions, you must survive Order 66… Join a Star Wars: Force & Destiny PbP game! This game will begin just before Order 66. You will be playing as either a Jedi Padawan or another character related to the Jedi/Force. This campaign will focus on surviving after Order 66 while looking to learn about a mystery you’ve uncovered in the Force. A big focus will be put on your character’s morality, their view of the Force, and the bond between the party as they struggle together to survive. This will be an asynchronous play-by-post game using a dedicated Discord server, RPG Sessions for character sheets and dice bot, and potentially Owl Bear Rodeo for maps. As a play-by-post game, gameplay will take place through text on Discord, with players responding when they can throughout the day. As the GM, I will advance the story at least once per day, responding to out-of-character questions and direct encounters throughout the day.

Hey! I'm Caleb, and I love playing games, telling stories, and creating worlds. I've been playing and GMing RPGs for over a decade, specializing in narrative-based systems such as FFG's/Edge's Star Wars and Genesys RPGs, as well as the upcoming Cosmere RPG, and I love PbP games! I GM games professionally for Edge Studios at GenCon, and during the past couple of years, I've run Star Wars, Genesys, Legend of the Five Rings, and the Arkham Horror RPG. I've also graduated from the Adventure Writing Academy, a creative writing course focusing on RPG writing, and am a freelance writer, having published supplements for the Genesys Foundry on DriveThruRPG.

Creating your character
Character Creation Collaboration During Session 0: 🌟 Your characters will have 100 additional starting XP and 5,000 extra starting credits OR a Lightsaber, plus one free Force power tree and an additional free Specialization tree. 🤝 Your characters will already know each other and will have some connection to each other. ✨ Each of your characters will start with a unique and custom item special to them and relating to their backstory. When making your character, I require that all of your choices and XP expenditure be noted on your sheet. For example, under "notes" on your sheet, list what free career skills you chose, what you spent XP on (such as talents and skills), and what you spent credits on. Additionally, this record-keeping will continue throughout the game as you receive more XP.
Our party of surviving Jedi Padawans and force users include a Human Mystic/Makashi Duelist, a Pantoran Consluar/Arbiter, and a Zabrak Sentinel/Shadow.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
What you will need: A Discord account and an RPG Sessions account, both free and able to sign with Google. Both these platforms can be used on a mobile device. Familiarity with FFG's/Edge's Star Wars RPG is not required. I will assist anyone unfamiliar with the rules to learn them and will guide all players through Character Creation.

What I'll Provide: 🧠 Years of experience running Star Wars RPG and PbP games. 🎨 Creative adventures focusing on the strength of the PCs. 📚 Rules references that the players may need. 💬 Managing the Discord server for our adventure. 🎲 Rule of Cool: I'm a fan of the PCs and will prioritize fun and dramatic moments over strict adherence to rules. My GM style leans toward levity and excitement rather than grim and gritty. While the adventure focuses on survival morality, my personal taste adds a measure of humor and lightheartedness. This isn't to say there won't be serious moments, but the overall tone of the campaign will not be one of serious drama. More details can be discussed during Session 0.

How Caleb creates a safe table
Pace of Play: For both myself as the GM and for you as players, I plan on at least one meaningful post a day, such as a description of what your character is doing, responses to in-character conversations, and/or taking your turn in a combat, social, or skill encounter. When possible—which should be most days out of the week—I can advance the game with more than a single post a day. There should be no pressure on you to respond constantly, as the beauty of a PvP game is the ability to do so when you can. However, we will attempt to respect the time of all players, and I will try to keep things moving at a reasonable pace, not leaving any player behind while allowing the game to stall out. My games include the Motivation rules from Genesys, meaning your character will have a defined Strength, Flaw, Desire, and Fear, which we will use to enhance gameplay for your character. I also use the Genesys Vehicle rules, which are a refined version of those found in the Star Wars RPG. Further details on how I run PbP games will be provided on the Discord server. All types of players are welcome, and Session 0 will be free, so you'll have the opportunity to see if this game fits you!
