About the adventure
Who else is excited to finally try out Darrington Press' (Candela Obscura, A Familiar Problem, Critical Role) new tabletop system, Daggerheart? We're all in luck because it's finally time, so let's go and play with our new toys! Our story will follow the Sablewood Messengers, a group of premade characters, on a mission to deliver something important to the head of a religious order of forgotten gods in the small village of Hush. Can you make your way through the perils of the Sablewood and meet with the Whitefire Arcanist? Can Daggerheart show us as good a time as some of our other TTRPG favorites? Let's find out together in this introductory adventure for the new system, Daggerheart.

About me
I've been immersed in worlds fantastical and speculative for most of my life and grew up writing way too many bits of stories to ever keep up with and recently discovered a burgeoning passion for storytelling via tabletop (including the virtual variety) and am looking to wet my whistle DMing for folks who I haven't already known for years! This is where you come in. Are you new(ish) to the world of tabletop RPGs and want to spend some time growing with a group of other (relatively) inexperienced players so we can all sharpen our storytelling skills together? Oh, you are? Great! Let's be friends and burn through some modules together and hopefully have a good enough time to start a full fledged campaign or two (or five). Most experienced with 5E, but have been working with the 2024 ruleset; Candela Obscura; or going back to my longest running (as a player) TTRPG, FFG's Star Wars Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny.

Creating your character
For this introductory adventure, we have pre-made characters and I will provide you with their sheets. HOWEVER! After a couple of rounds of intro adventures, I would really love to run some long term campaigns and would be more than happy to help whoever joins with character creation and world building, as it is an incredibly collaborative system.
This adventure, barring a rules change from StartPlaying or Darrington, will not be starting until the official release date of the final retail version of Daggerheart, which is on 20MAY2025.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only tech you'll need is a good connection with a good headset (or whatever situation you wanna use to hear and be heard), a Discord account, and a demiplane/Roll20 account. I guess technically a PDF reader for your character sheets and such, but who's counting?!
What omniphobe - David brings to the table
In celebration of the Daggerheart system's release, I'll be able to give you access to character side materials from the official rules and other various tools through their official demiplane portal. Roll 20 owns demiplane, I believe, so we'll likely be playing there and in Discord. Until we've had more time with the system, it's hard to say what the play style will be, but I do tend to be in favor of Rule of Cool but with firm backing from Rule as Written (basically, default to RAW-ish, but am very open to finding ways to bend the rules to find fun ways to do fun things. Sound fun? Great!) and intraparty role play is strongly encouraged. If you have a voice, bring it, but if not, no worries! I don't really have one either.

How omniphobe - David creates a safe table
You can always reach out to me privately in session and you will also be linked to a consent checklist so you can underscore any hard nos you may have. While this is intended as a game for adults, it's not exactly an Adult Game and we're all here to have fun, not give anyone a hard time. So let's all be respectful and should problems arise, I'm wide open.
