About the adventure

Confused, you pull out the letter that brought you here. “Mercenaries will be paid in gold to capture bandits…” Your eyes travel to the fresh mounds of dirt on multiple graves, then flit from house to house. “Vengeance is Coming”, written in blood, is being scrubbed from white-washed walls. “This doesn’t look like a few bandits,” one of your companions says as you walk through the leafy elven village. You agree, but you're here now. And you need this payout, especially since you can’t go back. Those bridges are well and truly burnt. As you enter the village circle your heart sinks. Another team, lounging beneath dappled leaves while sharpening their blades, are also here for the gold. “Crap. What's she doing here?” you mutter. ------- In DEATH OF THE ELVEN REALM ⚔️ fight in exciting battles 🧙‍♀️ grow from new adventurer to legendary hero, 🐲 face terrifying monsters, 📜 uncover ancient secrets, 🗡️ find world shaping magic items, 🌎 explore and forge a detailed homebrewed world. In DEATH OF THE ELVEN REALM you are an adventurer seeking an easy first job, but instead discover a vengeful being intent on annihilating every last elf in a forested land with hidden perils and a shameful past. This heroic adventure starts with level 1 characters and ends at level 9. It is suitable for both veterans and beginners.

About me

Hello! My name is Vahid. As well as being a Dungeon Master for 40+ years, I am the producer and DM of the streaming show Dice Legenz (links below to check out our show). Over the 40+ years of being in the D&D scene I have spent thousands of hours playing HEAPS of different TTRPG systems, but I especially love D&D 5th edition. Role-playing games are an amazing way to connect with friends, make new friends, create new and exciting worlds, and just have a wonderful creative time. Fun is the core of all of the games that I run. The sessions that we will have together will be a balance of engaging, interactive role playing, and exciting, thrilling, fast paced action. While running pre-made modules is fun, the real excitement for me is creating new worlds, new characters, new adventures. Therefore, the games that I run are in unique world settings. Together, we will encounter monsters you have never seen before in places no one has ever visited before. And at the heart of all of the adventure are the characters that YOU make - the heroes, or perhaps antiheroes, of our adventure. If you like making fascinating heroic (or anti-heroic) characters, you're in the right place; if you love helping to build wild and wonderful worlds, you're in the right place; if you enjoy scintillating role playing experience, you're still in the right place; if you're a strategic thinker and love combat, this is the place for you; and if you love going up levels and collecting loot… yep! You're in the right place! The games that we will play together are open for any experience level. Whether you are a veteran, or a first-time D&D player, you are welcome here. When not doing Dungeons and Dragons, professionally I am from the television and media world. I'm a music composer that composes for media, especially animation, but also for advertising, games, magazine shows, children's shows, sports, etc. I've also had experience as a voice actor, script writer, animation director, and now the producer of the Dice Legenz show. In my personal life I am a husband and father. I live in New Zealand, but was born in Bloomington, Indiana in the United States of America. I'm a world citizen who works with people all over the planet. Character creation

Creating your character

You can either bring a level 1 character that you have made to our first session, or I can supply you with pre-made character. Leading up to the first session we will use Discord to discuss your character and how they fit into the campaign. Characters are to use -standard array stats -average hit points -standard starting equipment -human variant is allowed -feel free to use paper, D&D Beyond, or Roll20 to make your character. If you use Roll20 you will have access to all the character options when you do so within our Roll20 game (link below) Any classes, races, or backgrounds from the Players Handbook are fine to use. If you have other character creation ideas based on official DnD content just run it past me first. The world setting we are using has some specific lore around certain races, including tieflings and drow. Home brewed character options from someone else are unlikely to be used in our sessions.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to have a working microphone, computer and access to Discord and Roll20. These services are free to create accounts for. You are welcome to use any method of creating the character such as a physical character sheet, D&D Beyond, or another online character creation tool. You are welcome to use physical dice or digital dice. I have so many beautiful physical dice that I will be using them.

What Vahid Qualls brings to the table

Immersive storytelling Character voices Ambient mood setting music Detailed original maps A unique setting Access to the World Anvil lore document We will use Roll20 virtual tabletop for the battle scenes including custom maps and tokens. Scenes will have ambient music to enhance the immersive experience. Because I come from the performing arts world I am very comfortable doing voices for the characters, but players need not feel a pressure to do voices if they don't want to.

Safety

How Vahid Qualls creates a safe table

The first 20 minutes of our first session will include time to become familiar with the world including its geography, political landscape, pantheon, threats, allies, and how your characters fit into the world. We also go over the safety tools in this first session. Those safety tools include Lines and Veils, and expectations of how we treat each other in the sessions. Players are invited to mention any content they wish to avoid either privately to me, or publicly with the group. Players are also supplied with a document outlining the Lines and Veils. Players are welcome to message me privately about content that is triggering at anytime during or after the session. We have a short break in the middle of the session as well as spending a few minutes at the end of each session chatting about how the session went. These are good times for players to raise anything that was triggering for them.
