About the adventure

‼️⚠️ SURVIVAL IS NOT GUARANTEED. ⚠️‼️ Some games are meant to be played. Others… are meant to be survived. In Jungleheart, an ancient, cursed board game pulls unwitting adventurers into a chaotic battle for survival — and the jungle doesn’t play fair. Every roll unleashes a new threat: wild monsters, deadly hazards, twisting magic, and escalating disasters that threaten the real world itself. Your only way out? Reach the center of the board and call out the secret name of the Jungleheart… before reality collapses around you. How it works: • Sessions run for roughly 4 hours. • The first 15 minutes will involve introductions and a safety review. • You’ll jump in with level 5 characters (either bring your own or pick up a premade option provided before the game). • Initiative is rolled at the start and maintained for the whole game. Every turn, you’ll have to choose: roll to move closer to victory, or react to survive. Every choice matters. Every roll brings the jungle closer. (Yes, this is inspired by Jumanji — and yes, you might end up chased by monkeys, caught in vines, or flattened by a tidal wave. You’ve been warned.)

About me

Hiya! I'm Dani, your friendly neighborhood AuDHDer who loves bringing people together to have fun! I have a number of TTRPGs (including Solo and Duo that I can run for you): https://danireviews.notion.site/Menu-of-Non-D-D-Games-8c4543dd70474462b092361331e1b6a8 About me as a GM: ⚡️ I started playing D&D (5e) properly in March 2023 and quickly picked up the GM role. 😎 I'm more ROC (rule of cool) than RAW (rules as written) 🤪 I love a bit of silliness! 🎭 I enjoy trying new ideas and games, and I will riff off whatever you want as long as it fits within the safety rules decided as a group. 🐣 My sessions are super beginner-friendly, as most of the players I've GM'd for have been beginners who wanted to be initiated. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 I've GM'd for parents and their kids as well as couples wanting a different kind of date night! About me as a person: 🌍 I've lived in China, Japan, and the UK, though I'm now based in South Africa. ⚖️ You can consider me Chaotic Good because I believe in fairness, justice, and letting people be unashamedly themselves. 👩🏻‍💻 I work in the tech industry, and I love trying out new tools and technology. 📚 I love reading, mostly fantasy and romance, so expect references to pop up. 🧶 I collect hobbies, especially crafty ones like crochet and cross-stitch.

Character creation

Creating your character

All official and 3rd party sourcebooks in D&D Beyond are acceptable, and you'll have access to everything I've purchased (almost everything on there...) once you join the campaign link. - Level: 5 - Ability Scores: Point buy - Allowed Races/Classes: All available in my sourcebooks. I just ask that you get to know your character well. - Alignment & Backstory: Any as long as you're not actively working against your party - Starting Equipment: Typical starting equipment for your race/class/background. Additional equipment can be found along the way.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

1. Join the campaign link in D&D Beyond 2. Create your character ahead of the game 3. Join the Daniverse Discord server 4. Make sure AboveVTT is installed (disable Beyond 20 extension as the two may clash) 5. Bring snacks!

What Dani brings to the table

As a GM, I use D&D Beyond extensively and will create the campaign there while sharing some of my sourcebooks appropriate for the adventure and the group. The session will be run in AboveVTT with maps and tokens prepared ahead of time.

Safety

How Dani creates a safe table

At this table, player safety comes first. We’ll use Lines and Veils to set clear boundaries before we begin, and the Open Door policy is always in effect — anyone can take a break, step away, or leave if needed, no questions asked. A quick debriefing will happen at the end of the session to check in with everyone. Content warnings for Jungleheart include character death, violence, blood, environmental hazards, body horror, animal attacks, claustrophobia, drowning, mind control, and creepy imagery. Please feel free to let me know privately if there’s anything specific you want to avoid — you deserve to feel safe while you adventure.
