About the adventure
A mysterious meteor. A fog-choked graveyard. Undead rising from their graves. The people of Col Fen are terrified. A glowing rock fell from the sky and landed in the village graveyard—and ever since, the dead have started to walk. Two guards went in to investigate… and never came back. Now it’s up to you and your party to uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface. But not everything is as it seems. Something ancient has awakened. Something strange. Something that wants to grow. Will you fight your way through the shambling dead, or seek another way forward? Will you destroy the colony… or become part of it? The Meteor of Col Fen is a beginner-friendly D&D one-shot perfect for new and curious players. You’ll: • Explore a spooky, fog-drenched graveyard • Battle reanimated corpses and mushroom-creatures • Solve a mystery hidden in the crypts • Decide the fate of a newly awakened species • Level up as you go (1st to 3rd level!) Whether you’re brand new to Dungeons & Dragons or just want a low-stress, story-rich adventure, this game will draw you in and leave you thinking about it long after the session ends.

Creating your character
Character Creation This game is designed to be super beginner-friendly, so whether you’re building your first character ever or just want to jump in quickly, I’ve got you. Here’s how character creation works: • Starting Level: Characters will begin at Level 1 and level up to Level 3 over the course of the adventure. • Creation Timing: • You can create your character before the session using a template I’ll send you • Or, you can choose a pre-generated character I provide—great for quick starts or first-time players • If needed, we can also build your character together before game day or during the first 15–20 minutes of the session Stats: • Point Buy or Standard Array (for fairness and balance) • If you’re brand new, don’t worry—I’ll help guide you through your stats. Allowed Books/Sources: • Player’s Handbook (PHB) • Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything • Xanathar’s Guide to Everything • Other official 5e sources on request (no homebrew or Unearthed Arcana for this one-shot, just to keep things smooth) Platform: • Characters will be created directly in Foundry VTT • If you prefer, you can use D&D Beyond and I’ll help you port it over
What to expect
Preparing for the session
No stress, no pressure—just come ready for a fun, spooky adventure! Here’s everything you’ll need to join the game: Required: • Mic: A working microphone is required (no webcam needed unless you want to use one) • Internet Browser: You’ll play through Foundry VTT, which runs in your browser—no downloads necessary • Discord Account: We’ll use voice chat through Discord. A free account is all you need! Optional But Helpful: • Headphones or earbuds (to reduce echo) • D&D Beyond account (only if you’d like to build your character there—totally optional) You Don’t Need To: • Read the rules ahead of time (I’ll guide you through everything) • Know how to use Foundry or Discord (I’ll walk you through it!) • Build a character in advance (I’ve got pre-gens or will help you create one) Just bring your curiosity, creativity, and maybe a character idea or two (if you have one)! I’ll take care of the rest.
What Queenathin brings to the table
What I Bring to the Table I run immersive, story-rich games that are especially welcoming to new players, curious roleplayers, and folks who love spooky-but-fun fantasy adventures. Whether this is your first one-shot or you’re a returning hero, I’ve got you covered. Here’s what you can expect at my table: Tools & Tech • Foundry VTT: A polished, immersive virtual tabletop with animated maps, fog-of-war, and smooth gameplay. No downloads needed—just a browser! • Custom Maps & Tokens: Professionally designed visuals that bring the haunted graveyard of Col Fen to life. Atmospheric, detailed, and easy to navigate. • Pre-Generated Characters or Help Building Yours: No prep needed—just show up! If you want to build your own character, I’ll guide you through it step-by-step. • Ambient Music & Sound Effects: Spooky wind, graveyard echoes, distant whispers, and light music to enrich the vibe (nothing too loud or distracting). • Digital Safety Tools: X, N, & O card system in chat or DM, with a Lines & Veils checklist sent before the game. My GM Style • Beginner-Friendly: I love teaching and guiding players through D&D. I’ll explain mechanics as we go, so you never feel lost or overwhelmed. • Narrative-Focused: I encourage roleplay, player creativity, and decisions that impact the world. There’s no “right” way—just your way. • Rule of Cool > Rules as Written: If you describe something cool that makes narrative sense, I’ll find a way to make it work. • Balanced Gameplay: Combat, exploration, and mystery are all part of the adventure—but nothing dominates the spotlight. • Chill, Welcoming Vibes: My table is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ players, neurodivergent players, and anyone who wants a low-pressure game full of imagination and fun. If you’ve ever wanted to try D&D—or if you love strange fungi, glowing meteors, and making friends with mushroom people—The Meteor of Col Fen is your perfect first step into adventure.

How Queenathin creates a safe table
Your comfort matters. Here’s how we’ll use safety tools to create a safe, fun, and collaborative experience: Session 0 Before we dive into gameplay, we’ll have a 10–15 minute Session 0 to: • Go over game tone (spooky but whimsical, not grimdark) • Set expectations (roleplay-friendly, exploration-heavy) • Review the rules for new players • Establish boundaries using Lines & Veils and XN&O • Discuss player goals (combat, RP, puzzle-solving preferences) You’ll receive a Lines & Veils + Consent Checklist document link before the session. You can fill it out privately or discuss it with me directly. X, N, & O Cards We’ll use digital options for these: • Type “X” in chat or say “X” aloud to pause or stop a scene • Type “N” to slow down or signal discomfort without stopping the scene • Type “O” to confirm you’re okay during tense moments If you prefer private messaging, that’s always welcome too—I’ll be watching both chat and private DMs. Breaks We’ll take a break halfway through the session (and more if needed). Feel free to ask for one anytime, no explanation required. Aftercare & Debrief After the session, we’ll do a brief debrief (5–10 mins). This is your space to: • Share highlights or favorite moments • Talk about anything that felt weird or too intense • Ask questions or give feedback It’s casual, optional, and a great way to wind down together.
