About the adventure
Something terrible just happened—and your characters saw it. Just outside Baldur’s Gate, the city of Elturel disappears from the sky in a blinding flash of light. Nobody knows where it went or why. People are panicking, refugees are on the move, and dark things are stirring. In this beginner-friendly Play-by-Post campaign, we’ll follow your characters as they get pulled into a story of infernal influence, crumbling cities, and dangerous choices. Eventually, you’ll descend into Avernus, the first layer of Hell, where war machines roar across the wastelands and devils make tempting deals. This game is a great fit for newer players, writers, or anyone looking for a creative and flexible way to play D&D. I’ll walk you through everything—no experience needed. We will be playing this asynchronously.

About me
My D&D journey started in the most unexpected way - at my own wedding reception! A friend suggested we try playing, and two weeks later we had our first session. From that moment five years ago, I was completely hooked. What began as a casual suggestion became a passion that's defined my free time ever since. I've been GMing for about 2-3 years now, and I still get that same excitement every time we sit down to play. I'm the kind of GM who believes rules exist to enhance fun, not limit it. While I stick to Rules as Written as my foundation, I'm always ready to embrace the Rule of Cool when players come up with something creative and exciting. There's nothing I love more than watching a player's face light up when they describe how their critical hit takes down the big boss, or when they come up with a clever solution that I never saw coming. Those moments when the story unfolds organically through player choices and dice rolls? That's pure magic. I put a lot of effort into preparation and tailoring encounters to match what my players enjoy most. Whether you're drawn to tactical combat, deep roleplay, puzzle-solving, or exploration, I'll make sure there's something at the table that speaks to you. My goal is always to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and excited to contribute to our shared story. When I'm not rolling dice, you'll find me reading fantasy and sci-fi novels (Dungeon Crawler Carl and The Locked Tomb series are current favorites), playing games like Legend of Zelda and Spider-Man, or diving into a good horror story. All of these influences find their way into my storytelling, creating rich worlds full of adventure and possibility. Whether you're a veteran player or someone who's never touched a d20, you're welcome at my table. I believe the best game happens when everyone feels comfortable being creative, taking risks, and celebrating each other's awesome moments.

Creating your character
We will create characters in a "session 0" discord channel. I will be there to answer any questions players may have and to help. Starting level will be Level 1. Characters will be created on dndbeyond and players will have access to 5e rules and other books I have on there. We will go over stats and how to apply them. Player's Handbook (2014), Xanatahr's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldren of Everything are the books my players can have access to when creating their characters. We will also discuss dark secrets the characters will share together and possible background choices to further and help the characters along.
All you need is a free dndbeyond account and access to discord!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a discord and a dndbeyond account. Have a general idea of the character they want to play, and we will go from there.
What RoguishLink brings to the table
I'm a fan of combining RoC (rule of cool) and ROW (rule as written). If a player wants to do something cool...I'm for it. Players can expect a nice combo of roleplay and combat from me. I'm open to all questions and taking things slow, so that everyone can learn or get a chance to play.

How RoguishLink creates a safe table
I will let players either share with me the lines or veils for them or to the discord channel labeled "session 0." Within this chat we will discuss expectations, character creations, and anything else that may come up within the game.
