Hey! I’m DM Gh0st—a storyteller, worldbuilder, and atmosphere-driven Dungeon Master who loves creating unforgettable adventures. I’ve been playing D&D for a few years, but I’ve spent the past year fully immersed in running games, building custom worlds, and shaping stories that put characters at the center of everything. I specialize in immersive, roleplay-heavy campaigns that still deliver tight, tactical combat and meaningful consequences. Creating your character
🧙♂️ Character Creation Guidelines All characters will start at Level 3, giving you access to your subclass and a bit more flexibility from the start. This is when things start to get fun — you’re no longer fragile students but rising stars with something to prove. Please come to Session 0 with a rough character concept in mind — nothing needs to be fully built yet. Just have an idea of who you’d like to play: class, vibe, or a few personality traits. Your character’s background doesn’t need to be fully fleshed out, but I encourage you to start thinking about where they came from, why they’re at Strixhaven, and what they might be hoping to find (or escape). I’m happy to help you expand on that during Session 0 if needed. We’ll roll stats together in Session 0, so no need to worry about point buy or standard array. The goal is to create characters that feel connected to the setting and to each other — and have a blast doing it.

🧑💻 What You’ll Need to Play To jump into the game and have a smooth, immersive experience, here’s everything you’ll need. All software and accounts are completely free — the only thing you'll need to bring yourself is a microphone and webcam (I can’t supply those, sorry!). ✅Google Chrome browser ✅The Above VTT Chrome Extension (used for our virtual tabletop) ✅A free D&D Beyond account for character creation, dice rolling, and access to shared content ✅Discord downloaded and a Discord account — this is our hub for voice/video during sessions, scheduling, and between-session RP ✅A working microphone and webcam — face-to-face play via video helps create stronger group chemistry and better roleplay For character creation: We’re starting at Level 3, so you’ll jump in with your subclass already unlocked. We’ll roll stats together during Session 0, so no need to worry about ability scores in advance. Just show up with a character concept — a class you’re excited about, a fun personality idea, or a rough backstory. I’ll help fill in the gaps and make sure your character fits the world and the party.

How DM Gh0st creates a safe table
🛡️ Session 0, Safety, and Player Comfort Before we begin our journey through Strixhaven, we'll hold a full Session 0 to establish tone, expectations, and group dynamics. This includes: ✅Reviewing character creation and how to tie PCs into the setting ✅Discussing themes like mystery, academic rivalry, and slowly emerging horror ✅Setting Lines & Veils to ensure boundaries are respected ✅Clarifying tone (dark fantasy, not grimdark) and how we want to handle things like romance, trauma, and character conflict ✅Going over house rules, the X/N/O system, and how to give feedback during or after sessions ✅I use a digital Lines & Veils form (link sent before Session 0) and give players the option to message me privately or use video symbols (X = hard stop, N = approaching line, O = good to continue). Your comfort is more important than any scene, and I actively check in with players if content ever gets intense. ✅Aftercare is built into my sessions. If a scene gets heavy, we take a break or chat at the end to make sure everyone’s good. This is a table where everyone’s safety and fun matter equally. If you’re new to safety tools, don’t worry — I’ll walk you through them clearly and without pressure. The goal is to tell a powerful story together, and that only works if the table feels like a safe and respectful space.
