About the adventure
Welcome to Icewind Dale, where the wind can flay your face off and the friendliest locals are the ones who only glare at you. Ten-Towns survives on fishing, folklore, and fear — mostly of frostbite and whatever's howling just beyond the torchlight. The sun hasn’t shown its face in a while, and folks are starting to whisper that something’s not right. (Not that it’s ever been great, mind you.) That’s where you come in. Maybe you're chasing rumors, escaping something worse, or just didn’t check the weather before heading north — but you're here now, and Ten-Towns needs help, whether it knows it or not. This is a survival story with strange lights, hidden truths, and choices that might echo louder than you'd expect. And if you're lucky? You might just find something worth fighting for beneath all that ice.

About me
Back in the day, I played AD&D every Sunday at noon. The DMs were two brothers who took turns. I had never really been friends with them before that. We played until dinner. We were into it. I played Felris Quickfingers, Svirfneblin Jester. I could never figure out how anyone DMed the game and I never cared to learn. The same could be said for working in a middle school, which I had also sworn off ever doing, but found myself doing one day. I started social groups using DnD and Pathfinder. It was awesome teaching kids DnD and building relationships that way. Eventually, I switched to playing with friends and family during the pandemic. Now, I DM almost exclusively. I foolishly thought I would DM to inspire my players to also become DMs. In the meantime, I discovered I love the range of creativity this hobby brings out in us all, and all the ways it brings people together.

Creating your character
We use 2024 rules and the character sheets on Roll 20. You may import one from Characters in Roll 20 or using the Beyond 20 app to import from D&D Beyond.

What Jake Ware brings to the table
We will use Discord for voice and Roll 20 as our virtual table top. You may use your own dice or the virtual dice on your Roll 20 character sheet. I have a wacky style and joke a lot, but am beholden to the rules the best I can be. I prefer and use the 2024 ruleset. I have no problem rejecting cool stuff in favor of the rules.

How Jake Ware creates a safe table
I generally encourage everyone to be honest about any topics they wish to keep out of our games, but I honestly don't spend a lot of time going over safety issues.
