Echoes of the Past: A Wheel of Time Adventure Step into the world of the Wheel of Time, where the echoes of a shadowy past threaten the fragile peace of a world reborn. Set after the climactic events of the Last Battle, "Echoes of the Past" invites you to explore the rich, intricate universe of Robert Jordan’s beloved series. As the dust settles and nations rebuild, remnants of the Dark One's influence still linger, casting long shadows over the land. You are a band of brave heroes, summoned by Queen Elayne Trakand of Andor to investigate disturbing occurrences in the remote village of Tarren Ferry. This adventure is perfect for both seasoned adventurers and newcomers to the Wheel of Time. It combines classic elements of Dungeons & Dragons with the unique magic and lore of the Wheel of Time. Whether you’re an Aes Sedai wielding the One Power, a skilled Warder defending your allies, or a knowledgeable Ogier seeking to uncover ancient secrets, your skills and courage will be tested. In "Echoes of the Past," you'll navigate treacherous political landscapes, solve ancient puzzles, and face fearsome Shadowspawn in combat. The fate of Tarren Ferry—and perhaps the world—rests in your hands. Will you uncover the secrets of the past and stop the lingering darkness, or will you fall to the shadows that seek to rise again? Creating your character
Timing:Character creation will take place before the first session. This ensures we can dive straight into the adventure when we begin. Stats: Players will use the standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) to assign their stats, or they can opt to roll for stats using the 4d6 drop lowest method, done together during our Session 0 to ensure transparency and fairness. Starting Level:Characters will start at level 3. This provides a good balance of abilities and powers, allowing players to experience a variety of class features and spells. Creation Platform:Characters will be created using D&D Beyond for ease of management and integration with our Virtual Tabletop (VTT). I will provide access to shared content to facilitate this process. Sourcebooks: Players are welcome to use content from the Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and the Wheel of Time d20 sourcebook for thematic elements. If you wish to use content from other official D&D books, please consult with me beforehand to ensure it fits within the setting and balance of the campaign. Class and Role Integration in the Wheel of Time Setting: Aes Sedai (Sorcerers/Wizards): As an Aes Sedai, your character taps into the One Power. Sorcerers can represent the innate ability to channel, while wizards can represent those who have undergone rigorous training. Choose appropriate spells that align with the powers and abilities seen in the Wheel of Time series, such as control over elements, healing, or creating illusions. Warders (Fighters/Rangers/Paladins): Warders are elite warriors bonded to Aes Sedai, known for their exceptional combat skills and heightened senses. Fighters and rangers fit this role well, with rangers also reflecting the Warder's skills in tracking and survival. Paladins can be adapted to reflect the Warder's dedication and magical bond to an Aes Sedai, with their spells representing the enhanced abilities granted by this bond. Ogier (Barbarians/Druids/Clerics): Ogier are a race of gentle giants with a deep connection to nature. Barbarians can reflect the raw physical power of an Ogier, while druids and clerics can represent their wisdom and affinity for the natural world. Their spells and abilities should focus on nature and healing, aligning with the Ogier's lore. Asha'man (Sorcerers/Wizards): Similar to Aes Sedai, Asha'man are men who channel the One Power. They often have a more aggressive approach to using the Power, which can be reflected in the spell choices. Sorcerers can represent the raw, untamed power of a male channeler, while wizards can represent those trained in the Black Tower. Gleemen (Bards): Gleemen are traveling entertainers, storytellers, and musicians, spreading news and tales across the land.

How Josh Davies-Jones creates a safe table
Before we begin, I will send a link to our Lines and Veils document. This document allows all players to outline topics they wish to avoid (Lines) and subjects they prefer to handle with care (Veils). This helps us establish boundaries and create a comfortable gaming environment. Session 0: We'll start with a brief Session 0 to discuss the campaign's themes, character creation, and any specific content concerns. During this session, we’ll review the Lines and Veils document together, ensuring everyone is on the same page. We'll also set expectations for gameplay, character roles, and party dynamics.
