What is Foundry VTT? Should I be using it for my game?

Seminar | One-Shot

About the adventure

What does Foundry VTT look like? How does it work? Is it something I should consider using in my *own* games? If you're a GM who is currently running your games via Roll 20, Fantasy Grounds, Owlbear Rodeo, or any *other* Virtual Tabletop, here's a chance for you to take a look at an alternative platform and see if it's something you'd be interested in. During this 2 hour-long(ish) GM Workshop, we'll be taking a look at Foundry VTT in terms of: ✅ Cost ✅ Hosting Options ✅ Player Features ✅ GM Features ✅ Customization ✅ Wishes & Stars Disclaimer: Please note that this workshop is *NOT*: ❌ an attempt to "convert" you to Foundry VTT. (If you like the VTT you're currently using, great! Keep using it.) ❌ a place to ask for tech support. (There are *hundreds* of YouTube videos on "how" to do things in Foundry VTT. This isn't one of them.) I'm looking forward to introducing you to this unique and powerful Virtual Tabletop platform.

I attended his Foundry 101 seminar, and even as an experienced user he explained things in an accessible way that I think will hone my craft.

I recently attended a seminar led by Frederick on the topic of using Foundry VTT, and I was thoroughly impressed. Frederick did an amazing job walking us through all the perks and capabilities of Foundry in a clear, engaging, and practical way. His passion for the platform was contagious, and his explanations made even the more advanced features feel approachable. Whether it was dynamic lighting, automation, module recommendations, or campaign organization, Frederick showcased each feature with real examples and helpful tips. I walked away from the seminar not only feeling more confident about using Foundry, but actually excited to dive in and apply what I learned. This seminar was incredibly valuable, especially for anyone considering moving their games to Foundry or wanting to level up their current setup. Big thanks to Frederick for such a well-structured and inspiring session!

Wow. I learned more from Frederick during his 2 hour Foundry seminar than I had learned from using the VTT for over a year. Interesting, engaging and patient - what a great class. Thank you!

I joined Frederick’s Foundry seminar and was very impressed with his style. He scaffolded information and had an instinct on when to check in with everyone attending. Teaching online is difficult, but he has a knack for it. Overall, I found the seminar interesting, informative, and ultimately thorough. It was worth the time spent, for sure!
