Abomination Vaults the classic Pathfinder megadungeon adventure!
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
The town of Otari is a humble but peaceful small town. Few pay attention to the long abandoned lighthouse, known as the Gauntlight, a few miles to the north. But the local curio and knick-knack merchant Wrin Sivinxi has always had an eye for the magical and mystical, even when others might overlook, or perhaps even willfully ignore such things. And Wrin is certain that late at night, the lighthouse has started giving off a strange and eerie glow. Fortunately for her, and perhaps the whole of Otari and beyond, she has some friends she can count on to investigate, adventuring into the lighthouse, uncovering it's mysteries, and confronting the perils within. Those friends are of course you! Abomination Vaults has an old school flavor, as you explore a huge dungeon with multiple levels, each containing new dangers and story elements. There is a real risk of character death, and even a total party kill, but overall I believe it's a beginner friendly adventure. It's especially a strong choice for players that might want to get their feet wet with roleplaying, but not be in the deep end. There's plenty of opportunity for players to express character personality, but it's also definitely the kind of adventure where you are more likely to be solving a problem by swinging a sword than engaging in political intrigue. While the combat requires thoughtful attention from players, especially as you progress deeper into the dungeon, I believe the adventure has a very good structure for introducing new players to combat and helping them get their bearings, without feeling like a videogame tutorial. While the adventure has horror elements, discussed more in the safety section, there's plenty of moments for comic relief, so don't expect a grimdark experience. I am excited to share Abomination Vaults with you!
Game style
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Zach is a great DM. He loves it when people get into their characters and role-play them accordingly. He's always open to any questions and concerns. He does a great job at keeping the pacing going while not rushing players simultaneously. Good for any starters in PF2e and willing to help out if you're ever stumped on character creation and/or other problems.
Zach is a great DM, he knows the Pathfinder system well enough to run a campaign for new players, the setting he has us going through is a blast and the horror not WoD levels is great for Pathfinder. He tries his very best to keep everyone happy and having fun. His maps are interesting and easy to go through, although he likes his snow effects which can be a little distracting. The world he built is fleshed out and lived in and he is even very good at improvising stuff when a player throws him a curve Ball. But down to the reason its 4 stars instead of 5, his stories can feel a little linear at times. Also, It feels at sometimes he doesn’t like or doesn’t know things in Pathfinders crunch, which in my DnD life starting with 3.5 and moving to Pathfinder because I am to bored of 5E’s less crunchy system. Although this last negative may only be for those who like the Pathfinder CRUNCH.

How to prepare
Having a mic will be important, a webcam is nice, but not required. I plan to run the game on my Discord, so an account on that will be needed. I strongly recommend looking at the following resources: The player's guide for Abomination Vaults https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf The Archives of Nethys for character creation options (no need for a deep dive, but at least skim through the options and see what inspires you!) This video, especially if you are stuck on ideas and want a suggestion on what class to play as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm5X45MxNXU Finally
What I provide
I will host the game on my Discord and Foundry Virtual Table Top. Foundry has an official Abomination Vaults module I have purchased and tested. It's high quality with all of the art from the book as well as music and unique visual and sound effects. I have also downloaded and tried out various quality of life modules for Foundry that enhance the experience with easier targeting and animations for spells and attacks for a more immersive experience. I am not a professional voice actor, but I do my best to give NPC's distinctive voices and speaking styles and give players something to play off of in social encounters.
Gameplay details
Abomination Vaults is a fantasy adventure with strong, but not extreme horror elements. I would say it is Diablo-lite. You will battle some gruesome monsters, and encounter risks of bloody injury, but I will not describe them super graphically. We can discuss what will be most comfortable way to use the X, N, and O tool in our Session O, by default I will assume that chat messages will be what we go with.

How will character creation work
We will create a character at session 0! No experience is necessary, but feel free to come with a character already in mind! Pathbuilder is a great tool for building your character (and can be imported into Foundry, the VTT we will use) https://pathbuilder2e.com/app.html
