About the adventure
Welcome to Avernus: Highway to Hell, a Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition game that will take you on a high action adventure through Baulder's Gate's most recent apocalypse. In this game, 4 to 6 players will have the chance to immerse themselves in the eternal struggle between Devils and Demons, known as The Blood War. The game will also provide ample space for non-combat choices and character development. The overall vibe of the game will be one of high tension and drama, as players navigate the dangers of the Nine Hells! Are you ready to take on the fires of Avernus, before diving into the rest of the Nine Hells and hopefully making it back in one piece? Join us on this epic journey, and see if you have what it takes to make it to the end Hell's Highway!

About me
🎶 Hello adventurers! Stay a while and listen as we embark on a fantastic journey! 🎶 You can call me Mashby. I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2e when I was a teenager. My favorite system was definitely 3.5e and my longest running game has been in 5e. Previously I've worked as an animator and production designer, and now I am an experience designer specializing in gamified learning. New players and folx with marginalized identities will find a safe space at my table, for it is my firm belief that all people deserve to create and have their stories heard. Collaborative storytelling is the portal through which we can explore the deepest dungeons and the furthest stars together.

How GM Mashby creates a safe table
We will go over safety tools and consent in Session 0. I regularly check-in with my players and tailor the adventures to meet their needs and ensure everyone has an amazing experience. A typical session will be everyone joining the Discord voice channel, and then joining the Foundry VTT link a few minutes before the start to load the map and have some time for social chat. After everyone is situated and ready to go then we will jump right into the game. Exploration and Roleplay will be large portions of the game as well as Combat, but these things will be tuned to meet everyone's needs. I like to play games with a healthy mix of role-playing and strategy, keeping time for both serious, dramatic moments and silly, humorous story beats. You can expect the game world to be fully developed, everywhere you go will be saturated in narrative, animated artwork, cartography, voice mods and atmospheric music. My games are a safe space for everyone involved, which we can go over with Lines & Veils. The most important goal for me as the GM is to make sure everyone has a great time playing. In a standard 3 hour game you can expect to have a 20-minute break around mid-session, and quick bio breaks whenever needed.
