A One-Week TTRPG Intro Text Game Free At The Narrative Universe

I discovered Joshua Orsak’s text-based TTRPG system by chance, luckily found the free version, and was instantly hooked. The solo unlimited creativity format drew me in. I upgraded early to the paid version, dropped around $80 USD bucks for a monthly text experience, and haven’t regretted it, we are in our first week and boy oh boy what a thrill. As a DM, I learned a lot from these quick sessions and quickly add this text flavor to my group—everyone loved the fast-paced, interactive style. Joshua’s own ruleset keeps momentum high. His stories are so compelling due to the game system being adaptable to any genre or realm from any media source you'd like to play in. I've been surprised and delighted and brought to tears with the plot lines. Games can be super serious or silly to the point of farcical. I love it! Playing in the Orsak Narrative Universe is an incredible experience. My one-on-one games have helped me improve my improvisation skills, and are helping me become a better DM myself. Playing by post solves the age old problem of ttrpgs: scheduling. It's roleplay on a more forgiving and consistent schedule, with time to think and craft your responses. I can check in on my games every day, and never have to miss or go weeks or months between games. The text-based games are fun, interactive, and easy to engage with. I love my characters and have had so many amazing moments -- here are just a few examples. Playing out a game based on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies with a group of women who became like sisters to me both in an out of game. Playing a toon imp who journeyed through Hell and back, and finding love and happiness at the end of her story. Playing a housecat druid who gladly gave up her life to save the Christmas Trees she protected. Currently I am playing an Ink Mage who works her magic through runes and contracts... the possibilities are truly endless!

Joshua is extremely friendly and incredibly imaginative person. Not only does he manage over 50 text games at once, but keeps them all exciting and engaging while connecting plot threads from one game to another in absolutely incredible ways. He makes it enjoyable not just to play with him, but even just to read or watch the games he DMs. Cannot recommend enough.

Josh has put together a Narrative Experience unlike any that I have been part of before. I have played with him in both live games (audio) and in text based game, the experience has been stellar in both cases. Josh is one of the most original, out-of-the-box Dungeon Masters, I have ever had the privilege to play with. I came to the ONU, Josh for his text based games, something to fill my day (retiree) with a creative outlet. I have played Edna Mode's, grandniece, Etta who kicked the Grand Puba of Cancer into oblivion (very satisfying); a Psuedo-fairy Pegasus, who is running her own empire; a very young looking teenager, Herbie, who wants to be an Inspector and is now playing in an arena as a Hyde-Wolf hybrid. If you can think of an idea, Josh will let you create it. I have genuinely felt comfortable in my game play here, having the ability to express things I would not dream of.
