About the adventure
This game is set in the world of Amber and the Courts of Chaos, written by Roger Zelazny. You play a Prince or Princess of Amber, one of Oberon's grandchildren. Or play a scion of a Lord or Lady of the Courts! The Amber books had major mysteries to solve, murders, fascinating characters, complex plots, and Shadow-spanning danger. Our story will too! The plot could depend, and will evolve, based on the kind of character you play, and their interests. Or, I can supply a plot-line and you will be dragged into it! Let's discuss options... The Amber (diceless) game system is quite different from standard D&D/Pathfinder/Warhammer type games. You don't need to know how to play it. Rules light. Probably combat light - most of the time....Dialogue/Plot heavy. This adventure is an asynchronous play-by-post adventure. Asynchronous games are played as and when people have the time to play and no more than one person has to be online at the same time. You post at times that work for you and I do the same. Play-by-post is a fantastic way to play a Fantasy adventure when you can't play online or face-to-face. Make a post and read the story as it evolves. I think play-by-post in combination will the Amber diceless system will replicate the "feel" of the Amber books very well. Let's you and I create a story-line together, to rival Roger's! By joining the group you agree to post at least once a week, more is better and more fun. As each player posts, the story and the characters evolve. I will tend to post one or more times per day, responsive to how often you post (you post more, I post more...) Play-by-Post is very beginner friendly. We're just telling a story together. But what a story!! Character creation session and first two weeks free! There is no specific time of the day, or day of the week, when this game is played. You play when you can (at least once per week per player), and you can post as much as you like (within reason).

About me
I've been running roleplaying games since 1980. I'm new-ish to hosting games on-line, but what I may lack in technical expertise on the platform I hope to make up for in enthusiasm and making it fun for you! I play "rule of cool" and I look forward to roleplay with you!

Creating your character
We will get together on discord for a voice chat and go through character creation together. This will take about a one hour session, could be more if you want to go more in depth, or are unfamiliar with the Amber Diceless game system. This game is targeted to start the week of April 7 with character creation through an "auction" process (for attributes of Psyche, Strength, Endurance and Warfare) and then through 1-1 discussion with the GM on backstory, powers, goals, etc.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you can, read as many of the Amber books by Roger Zelazny as you can! If you know the system, think about what kind of character you will want to play and how you would spend your points on Psyche, strength, endurance and warfare. What powers you want. If you don't know the game system, which character(s) in the books would you like to base your character on? I encourage people interested in this game to message me if you want to learn more the Amber game and how it works. On discord at robin002024
What Swords and Sorcery brings to the table
This game is played on discord, so all you need is a discord account and a device to access discord. I will post regularly and, within reasonable limits, up to multiple times a day depending on the player's inputs. Thus the speed and depth of play is dependent on the players as well as the GM. This game is very "conversational". You tell me where you character is going, what they're doing, and who they're talking to, and what they say, and the world and NPCs respond. To the extent other players are involved, you can interact with them as well and the same way.

How Swords and Sorcery creates a safe table
We will have a session 0 lines and veils discussion to discuss any topics you would not want to see in the game. There will be an overarching story line, but players will have agency to develop their own plot lines as well. The characters may work together, they may not, or maybe some of both.
