Eberron: The Oracle of War // D&D 5e // Tales of The Valiant
Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Tales of the Valiant | Campaign
About the adventure
🗺️ Explore a desolate magical wasteland. ⚔️ Face off Against The Lord of Blades! 👹 Defeat cults of otherworldly abominations. 🏰 Capture a stronghold and upgrade your base. Near the end of the LAST WAR, the nation of CYRE was demolished in a cataclysmic event known as the DAY OF MOURNING. What remains of Cyre is now called the MOURNLAND. It is said that only the foolhardy and the desperate venture into that place. An outpost called SALVATION has sprung up in the nation of BRELAND on the fringe of the Mournland. Salvation is populated by desperate SCAVENGERS hoping to make money by looting valuable items from Cyre’s smoking remains: an area they call THE GRAY. Scavengers join together to form SALVAGE CREWS that brave the unpredictable, and often deadly, landscape of the Mournland, finding items of value and then getting out before the lingering magic of the cataclysm destroys them. Some work for PATRONS, others work for SALVAGE BROKERS, and others work for themselves. Survival in Salvation requires quick wits, a strong constitution, and a friend watching your back. YOU CAN EXPECT: Base Building Dungeon Crawling Mission Running Exploration Journeys Random Encounters In A Living World Humor And Horror Collaborative World Building (Example: Tell me a unique aspect of this tavern/monster/cave.) Music, Tokens, Maps, Tons of Kobold Press monsters, subclasses, and more. -------------------------- About Oracle of War ⚙️ The Oracle of War Campaign was released as an Adventurers' League campaign between 2021-2022. It blends mission running, dungeon crawling, and spy craft/intrigue. While this campaign was written as a series of one-shots, I'm looking to turn it into a consistent story for a dedicated group.⚙️ 💰 Cost: Just looking to cover my subscriptions and purchased books and things.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Players are welcome to make D&D 5e characters or Tales of The Valiant characters. I have created a video tutorial. We will be starting at level 1. Can't wait to adventure!

How to prepare
You will need a mic, a Discord account, a Shard Tabletop account, and optionally, a web cam. Oh, and a sense of adventure and humor!
What I provide
I use Shard Tabletop for all my 5e DMing needs! Character creation, maps, tokens, everything players need will be through Shard. Including Tales of the Valiant core books, Tales from the Waste Adventures, Prepared! Adventures, Full Kobold Press GM Subscription with their whole catalog of character options monster, adventures, magical items--the whole deal! While in game sessions, I'll be using custom maps, music, and definitely lean more toward the Rule of Cool than Rules as Written. My philosophy as a Dungeon Master is that everyone has more fun when players and their characters get to do awesome things. My inclination is to allow for creative storytelling even if it fudges the rules sometimes. After all--the point of the game is to tell a story together, collectively.
Gameplay details
I provide a Lines and Veils Google doc that can be added to anonymously before sessions.

How will character creation work
Character creation will take place on Shard Tabletop, the process is simple, and I can easily run you through it. I have also created a tutorial video. Once your character is made, I can easily find a reason for your character to join the adventure! Attributes will be rolled. I love using a "Hero" option for attribute rolls. This means a roll of 2d6+6 X7. Though there are only 6 attributes, you get rolls and the lowest sum is dropped. I like this Hero option because it makes players feel more powerful and interesting at level 1. I'm all about players doing cool, memorable things every session, so I try to present obstacles for each player to show off, even at level 1.
