About the adventure

FIRST SESSION FREE "The ancient ones called it Lung'Shar—the Dragon's Maw. Those who've glimpsed its shores speak of crystalline forests that sing in the wind and mountains that bleed Dust like open wounds. They whisper of creatures that would make the Grimm of Remnant seem... tame." Beyond the charted waters of Remnant's kingdoms, where even veteran Huntsmen fear to tread, lies DRACONIS—a continent shrouded in myth and dripping with promise. Its jagged coastline tears at approaching ships like teeth, while the skies above swirl with storms that never cease. For centuries, it has remained unconquered, untamed, unknown. Until now. THE PROPOSITION Wilhelm Neathbow—candy magnate, reckless visionary, and a man whose ambition is matched only by his wealth—stands before you on the Vale docks. His silver tongue spins tales of glory and unimaginable riches as his mismatched eyes assess your worth. "The kingdoms grow complacent behind their walls,"* he says, waving a card full of Lien. *"But I've seen the future, and it lies across that cursed sea. Those with the courage to claim it will never bow to anyone again." The contract is simple: survive the journey, establish a foothold, and return with proof of Draconis's secrets. What Wilhelm doesn't mention are the three previous expeditions—all of which vanished without a trace. THE COMPANY You are the desperate, the ambitious, the outcasts: - Former Huntsmen haunted by failures or running from their past - Mercenaries and rogues seeking one final, legendary score - Scholars and explorers driven by mysteries that consume them - Survivors with nothing left to lose and everything to prove Together you form the crew of The Dragon's Fin—a modified Atlas military vessel reinforced against the impossible storms and equipped with experimental technology. THE CHALLENGE What lurks on Draconis? - Grimm variants previously unknown to the world - Ruins of a civilization that may predate humanity itself - Natural resources and phenomena that defy understanding Each step deeper into the continent reveals new wonders and horrors. The very land seems to resist you—changing overnight, leading you in circles, challenging your perception of reality itself. And something watches from the shadows. Something that knows you've come. About me

I'm Colette, a Dungeon Master and published author with a passion for interactive storytelling. For the past 15, I've been crafting immersive D&D 5e and TTRPG experiences that put players at the center of their own epic tales. My approach to DMing combines creative worldbuilding with a deep respect for player agency. I believe that tabletop RPGs shine brightest when everyone at the table contributes to the unfolding narrative. While I'm a laid back person most of the time, when I'm passionate about something, as with tabletop gaming, I can become quite fixated. Reliability is central to my professional ethos. In my years of DMing, I've maintained a consistent schedule with my groups, almost never missing a session and always providing advance notice when rare scheduling conflicts arise. When I'm not behind the DM screen, I'm often working on my creative projects. My experience as a published author informs my approach to campaign narratives, character development, and world lore. I'm part of LGBTQ+ community and committed to creating a welcoming table where all players can feel comfortable expressing themselves through their characters and storytelling contributions. Whether you're seeking heroic adventures, morally complex narratives, or something uniquely tailored to your group's interests, I'm excited to collaborate with you on creating memorable gaming experiences that will keep you coming back for more. Colette runs a great game! She really knew how to roll our party's buffoonery into the story without losing the tension during encounters. It was tons of fun, really gave me a craving for turkey!

Such a great session, I had lots of fun! Good banter/dialogue between NPC’s and PC’s, as well as fulfilling encounters.

Colette was very patient with me as a newbie and let our party explore the world she created (despite the goofy antics we got up to) while still keeping us on track. I loved how she gave us the room to be silly and joke around with each other while still keeping up with the task at hand. Definitely recommend for new players and people looking for a chill vibe!

Character creation
Creating your character

You will work with other members of the party when creating your character's. Mainly, this is to limit conflict within the party. There are mechanics for dust and building custom weapons. I will help you if you need help. New players are welcome! It may be good to have color, a species (faunus type?), and weapon in its melee and ranged form in mind, but I have a lot of ideas if you need help. I once had a character who had a motorcycle that broke apart, the axles shifting into 2 rotating blades for a melee weapon.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

You will need a means of using voice over discord and a computer for roll20.

What Colette brings to the table

I will provide books for the RWBY system we will be using. I am very much a dm who emphasizes player agency. If the party wants to go off the rails, I will let you and I will adapt

Safety
How Colette creates a safe table

As a member of the LGBT+ community, I run fully inclusive games. Transphobia, homophonic, racism, or any other bigotry will result in instant yeet. I will also ask you about possible triggers, and in game, we will employ the X, N, & O system.
