Learn to Play ✨Star Wars✨ with the Mimban Bounty Hunters Guild
Star Wars RPG by Fantasy Flight Games | One-Shot
About the adventure
Calling all bounty hunters! Join your fellow scum and villainy to a newly established Bounty Hunters Guild on the swampy mid-rim planet of Mimban. The gig is cushy: with each accepted bounty, you'll be assigned to a ship with a new crew to pilot it. Pay varies based on the commissioner's reward, split evenly amongst the crew. We understand you hunter-types like to work alone, all lone Lothal wolf like, but that won't fly here. Here on Mimban we hunt in packs to ensure our quarries are caught. All events take place at the height of the Galactic Empire, a few years before the Rebellion breaks out on Yavin 4. That doesn't meant there aren't insurgents, particularly on Mimban, where war between the Empire and the Mimbanese Liberation Army has been waging since the Republic was first usurped. The Mimban Bounty Hunters Guild (MimBHG, pronounced "Mim-bug", for short) considers itself a neutral party in the conflict, taking commissions from both sides should the opportunity arise. This one-shot is designed to introduce new players to the game, though advanced players are welcome to roll a new character and try it out! Everyone will get an in-depth tutorial on gameplay and character creation before we get started. You can use any sourcebook you like for character creation. If you're unfamiliar with the different player options FFG has available to you, I've got a bunch of helpful links on the Discord server to get you started. *listing art is my own, do not steal
Game style
West Marches
West Marches games are typically ran as “drop-in / drop-out” campaigns, where a pool of players hop into sessions as they are available or as sessions align with their schedules. These games focus on a player-led story and exploration, with each session acting as a self contained adventure, allowing for players to experience a variety of stories within an overarching campaign.
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Mission Statement: A well known Mos Eisley casino is calling on the MimBHG for help finding a runaway thief who is no doubt hiding somewhere on Tatooine. A security droid malfunctioned, providing enough distraction for a large sum of credits to be stolen. It's been several days since the suspect fled the scene of the crime after authorities came to question him. The casino owner is demanding a speedier search, which is why she's gotten bounty hunters involved where Imperial authorities have failed. Due to conflicting interests with said casino owner, the well known Hutt Syndicate has passed up on the bounty. Current Party: ✨Mandalorian Soldier (Death Watch Warrior) ✨Human Commander (Tactician) ✨Aleena Smuggler (Gunslinger)

Rocky's a fantastic DM! I took a long hiatus from DND for various reasons and I'm very glad I ended up with the group I'm currently in to get back into it. They're a terrific storyteller who integrates prewritten descriptions very well into the campaign, and their homebrew setting has been a lot of fun to work with. Overall the campaign has been great, the vibe is comfortable, and it's obvious they've put a lot of dedication into it :)
Rocky has been DMing our game for several months at this point and it has been a wonderful experience! Every session is planned and with extensive options to think outside the box to achieve our goals. Rocky even placed in an entire chariot race game just for a one off session, as well as all the additional story and character features that were introduced to their game at session zero. Everybody is accommodated and welcome, autonomy of your characters is entirely your decision and I have never felt like any of us were a bad fit. Rocky will give enough details and voice over introductions to illustrate the worlds you will inhabit and the lore bits you can either choose to pick up or move aside are always prevalent and there is a flavourful interaction on every street corner. All my respect for what Rocky does for our campaign and my gratitude for an exemplary experience for my first all-random online D&D session, it has been a ride getting to where we are and I am eager each week to see where our adventures will take us and who I will get argue with next!

How to prepare
🧠All you need is an active imagination and a working phone or computer (which you probably already have since you're here haha)! 🔊Voice chat only! I'm not picky about mic quality as long as we can all hear and understand you. 💻We will be using Discord, Roll20, and RPG Sessions, so please have accounts in these or make them. 📕Having read the rules in any of the three core rulebooks (Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force & Destiny) would be a bonus, more for you than me, as I always love introducing new people to the game!
What I provide
📱Organized Discord server with secret chats for each player to have DM-exclusive conversations during and between games ✨A unique feature of the MimBHG server is that you can stay on even after the one-shot has concluded! Bounty postings will be a regular affair, so keep your notifications on for announcements of new listings. 🗺️Roll20 for maps & scenic music 🎲Player's choice of Roll20 or RPG Sessions for character sheet 😎Staunch believer in the Rule of Cool 🏞️Lush world building and lurid descriptions for scene setting 🌌Wikipedia-like knowledge of mythology and Star Wars lore, so the one-shot will be rich in thematic encounters 👽Engaging NPCs! You can and will want to adopt them!
