About me
I have basically been playing ttrpgs as soon as I could count, since my dad was an OG D&D player back in the 80s. I started with D&D 3.5e and Pathfinder 1e. I have since mastered D&D 5e, and dabbled in the Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Transformers ttrpgs. I'd like to dip my toes into many others as well. My first time DMing was on my living room floor with a bunch of my high school friends. It was a quick one-shot and I had NO plan but we had tons of fun. Fast forward 10 years since then and I've run many many more games, both online and in person. The games that stick with me the most are set in my homebrew world of Estrya, where actions players have taken in one campaign impact the lore and history present in the world for future campaigns and players. I've also run published material, like Tales from the Yawning Portal and Curse of Strahd, or converted older D&D modules like Rock of Bral from 2e into the 5e system. I am new player friendly, and am always happy to teach anyone how the game works (sometimes I might even need reminding of rules myself lol, I like to operate under the "if its fun and makes sense, go for it" umbrella). We always start with a session 0 for my campaigns so I can help everyone make their characters, as well as encourage collaboration between players on backstory. One-shots will play a bit longer than regular sessions so a pre-game discussion can be had as well.
GM Style
I first and foremost consider D&D a storytelling game. Humans have always been oral storytellers and D&D is one of the many ways we've evolved that talent. This means my game style relies heavily on roleplay, while combat can, at times, be a bit of an afterthought. I love to provide art (occasionally hand drawn by yours truly) and maps to help you visualize a particular area and explore, but most of the game will be done through "theater of the mind". I am a writer at heart, and come up with lurid descriptions of places my players may or may not ever go😅 This has evolved a long way since my flying-by-the-seat-of-my-pants high school days. Notion and Google Docs are my best friends (some have told me I could make a whole wiki out of my world building haha). My favorite game style is sandbox exploring, like a proper open world RPG video game. Yes, there will be a hook in the narrative, keeping the plot marching along, but I want my players to lead the charge and forge their own paths through the setting, and thusly, the story. I love it when characters get creative and take the narrative to places I hadn't even imagined.

Rocky has been DMing our game for several months at this point and it has been a wonderful experience! Every session is planned and with extensive options to think outside the box to achieve our goals. Rocky even placed in an entire chariot race game just for a one off session, as well as all the additional story and character features that were introduced to their game at session zero. Everybody is accommodated and welcome, autonomy of your characters is entirely your decision and I have never felt like any of us were a bad fit. Rocky will give enough details and voice over introductions to illustrate the worlds you will inhabit and the lore bits you can either choose to pick up or move aside are always prevalent and there is a flavourful interaction on every street corner. All my respect for what Rocky does for our campaign and my gratitude for an exemplary experience for my first all-random online D&D session, it has been a ride getting to where we are and I am eager each week to see where our adventures will take us and who I will get argue with next!
