Aethurun: The Cthonic Age | A cozy farmland adventure
Build your dream village while fighting off threats such as demons, goblins and even opposing settlemenets.
About the adventure
Days of walking culminate in a bright green oasis. Surrounded by wide, reaching oak trees. A large grove of tall grass, deer, and wildberries populate the unclaimed coastal lands. You feel your legs ache, they burn with exhaustion, your mouth, dry in the heat and sweat still piling up underneath your linen clothes and heavy bags. You have finally reached the location of your new home, what will eventually become a shining beacon of hope to all both within and outside of Aethurun, in this campaign you will found and expand a small farm into a village and over the course of decades, a sprawling settlement. -------------------------------- Aethurun, her elegance, is a nation of many small kingdoms, and these kingdoms are going through a large change, after a devastating volcanic eruption that devastated much of Aethurun and her surrounding landmasses. The world is changing rapidly, with new early-colonial efforts occurring in the south and new trade routes found in the west, not to mention the recent introduction of Gunpowder and firearms in the world. Aethurun is seeing itself gearing up to become a very new place in mere decades time.

About me
I've been a big fan of TTRPG's since I was introduced to them 7 years ago and have loved DMing since I started 6 years ago. I have DM'd over 6 full-length completed campaigns in that time. I was introduced to TTRPG's through D&D, and have since tried out Starfinder, Call of Cthulu, Mothershup, Mutants & Masterminds. But my real passion lies with fantasy and D&D helps me to facilitate that love by weaving stories with my players. I am always aiming to improve myself as a DM and a player. I love making Homebrew such as classes, subclasses and homebrew rules that can assist certain play styles.

Scott has ignited a love for DnD in me. He has a way of empowering players. He wants you to have fun and enjoy. He rewards creativity and is open to your ideas for what you want for your character. There is no rail roading in his games. He has an open world feel. I have enjoyed his campaigns so much I am currently in 3 of them. He sets the mood, has fun and allows us to be players. We write the story and he sets the mood.
Scott is the man. His passion for the world he has built is second only to the passion he has for making sure your experience in his games in fulfilling. The effort he puts into his multitude of settings is incredible, from pantheons to cities to NPCs, he's worked his hardest to make it all interesting. Scott will listen. Your character is important, they drive the narrative and Scott will take you on a journey that you will never forget. He will work with you, any direction you want to take with a character, Scott will accommodate and it is always interesting. Scott is a great GM, and a great guy. I'm so glad to have met him.
Scott is easily the definitive DnD 5e experience in my personal opinion. He is creative, dedicated, hard-working and puts love and care into all his lore, worlds, and campaigns. He has a great love for Dungeons and Dragons and TTRPGs, and I’d like to go into the many ways he goes the extra mile for his campaigns and his players. The most important part about playing any game is being able to really get into it, to feel like you’re in that world, whether it be fantasy, future, or western. Getting his players immersed into the session is something Scott does very well. He has a carefully curated list of music, which he has ready to match any tone or situation. Between shopping spree music or in fierce battle with gods, Scott is able to synch the music perfectly to the events happening in the session. Scott is always ready and eager at the start of every session, prepared to set the vibe for whatever that adventure may hold. The person whom’st I refer to as “God” holds unbounded creativity. His worlds are very detailed and planned out. Whenever entering a new town, they feel unique from others and have their own little quirks about them. The NPCs have great names, but normally even better voices. Scott’s Australian accent makes countless voices of his memorable and hilarious. If you’re able to get an animal companion, do not make the mistake of not talking to it. Having Scott doing a multitude of animal sounds and voices for my party will be something I won’t ever forget. His maps, his worlds, his towns, crafted by Himself. So many unique layouts and realistic maps and coastlines. The lands he creates feel full and fleshed out, with many places to go and explore, landmarks to travel to, and rivers to cross. No two parts of his maps look exactly the same, and its easy to spend more time than you realize just looking across one of his continents and noticing all the small details he puts in. He home brews most of his campaigns, with them all getting their own books, with unique lore, gods, governments, systems, races, and everything else needed for a world to function. His plots twists are jaw droppers and I’d be lying if I said his storytelling hasn’t made me tear up before. Scott has a knack for bringing people together, maybe it due to him manipulating people so much by playing god all the time (My lawyers tell me I have to say this is a joke), or just his warm personality. A fun activity we get to do together which helps promote team building and learning more about your party is doing Character Building during long rests. Scott draws a card from a deck of questions he has, and asks different party members different questions about their character. This may be their morals, views, what they desire, or maybe a hypothetical situation. It’s fun to ponder these things and I feel like it often helps the player learn more about and develop their own character more. I think my favorite part about having Scott as my DM is just Scott himself. He’s a very laid back and chill person. He’s very fair to his players, and always tries to make things work. His sole goal is just to make sure everyone is having fun, and that’s what makes the best DM, and the best DND. He abides by the rule of cool, works with you with your character if there’s something you may not like or want to change, and hes a forgiving person. He has a willingness to teach people who are still learning, and humble enough to admit when he makes a mistake. Hes a great DM, a great guy, and a great friend. You’d be doing yourself a favor by enhancing your DND experience by bringing it to the next level If you had Scott run your sessions. He made me fall in love with Dungeons and Dragons all over again. -Shika “The Chaotic Dumbass” E2
Scotty has been able to form a cohesive world, even when the events can become wacky and chaotic. Being able to see it develop and reform based on our character's actions has been a very fun and immersive experience in the setting! Creating new rules, gameplay styles, and more has also made the overall experience more expansive than just the 5e D&D system.
